:roflblack::roflblack::roflblack: The Spyder does not have a chip to limit the top speed, or programming in the ECU. It does have a rev limiter that works in all the gears. As I recall, the theoretical top speed when I calculated it was south of 140...but the Spyder hasn't the horsepower to overcome the wind resistance and get to max rpm in high gear.
now she limits the maximum RPMs (only) in the 5th gear ... my RT with the smaller shield / without the flaps / lying on the Tank - is not able to come over 173kmh/ 106 mph
I love my spyder
I wouldn't try that either....I know I have a lot of riding yet to do but you have to have so much confidence in your vehicle/spyder and your own skills to drive that fast. Scary part is they all have one common factor...human beings, so they could fail at any time! :yikes:

Just wait until I get my Flux capacitor hooked up...

I don't have a gps, but I rode beside my wife in her Expedition. My digital gauge was saying 81mph, and her truck was reading 74mph. Anyone else's spyder over-shoots the speed reading?...

Mine is only off by 1 mph at 50...
(radar tested...)
