• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Seat lock.

I went to the Corbin seat factory in Hollister, Ca. recently for a seat instillation, upon returning home, I discovered that the key will not unlock the seat or the fronk, any similar problems out there in Spyder Land and what was the solution?
The ride is a 2012RT

Try pushing down on your Corbin while doing the usual push/turn with the key to release the seat. It's possible they did not adjust the locking pin correctly. Not sure why the frunk wont open unless something got messed up a bit with the install.

I removed both the locking pin and the shock from my seat when I installed the Corbin. Since the gas tank door is on the side of the seat--no need to raise the seat when refueling.

I know it is a ridiculous question, but the two really aren't related...Are you pushing the key down before you turn it?

OK, the potentially embarrasing stuff is out of the way. The seat is probably a combination of things. If the latch pin is adjusted too short, the seat doesn't want to open. Press down hard wher the pin is on the right front portion of the seat, or slam with your hand, while the key is turned. If yoy get it open, adjust the pin and lube the latch. The pin may also be too far forward or backward. Tyry grabbing the seat and wiggling it while the key is turned.

As to the trunk, is there anything in it pressing against the lid? If not cargo, it could still be the wetaher strip that has come loose, or a trunk liner that is loose or improperly installed. Same cure...try to press down over the latch or bang on the lid while turning the key. A second person helps.

Two different release cables, different directions on the key, you have two problems, not one, unless there is a real odd problem at the switch.

Got the seat off by removing the rear bolts, observed that depressing and turning the key does not activate the latch and lots of slack in the cable, so I'm thinking that the cables are disconnected from the key mechanism.

Sorry to hear that you are having troubles. Please post on how you get it worked out, and add pics of the process if you can. Some of us here will be learning as you go, hope everything works out for you.:popcorn:

Just sayin'............

Sounds like it. If both cables are affected, it is likely a problem at the switch. Sounds like time for a trip to the dealer.

Corbin would not have had to mess with the locking swith or the cables to the frunk. Just an adjustment, if needed, to the locking pin on the seat.

stuck corbin seat solution

Removed the front console to access beneath the ignition key, discovered that the frunk cable and seat cable were disconnected from the key unit, reconnected and problem was solved.

Interesting..!!

wonder why they would be unhooked at the key..?? Glad you found the problem and thanks for the update..!!:ohyea:
