There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. Taking my new Spyder RTS on first long trip

Well tomorrow the Misses and me are heading out on a three day trip up to Rockville, IN. This will be my first long trip with it. We are going with a bunch of other riders but I'm the only Can-Am owner. We are traveling up there to sight see some of the covered bridges in the area. I think its right around 400 miles one way. I think the bike has right around 650 miles it at the moment. This bike has been a brand new experience for me as I have been a 2 wheel rider up to this junction. The bike has me a little concerned cause of a stalling issue that has happened to me twice since I've owned it. The first time it happened in my driveway and was in neutral, so restarting it wasn't a problem. The second time the bike was in first gear and I had a time to try to get it in neutral in order to restart it. So I got my fingers and toes crossed for good luck that nothing happens with the bike. I'm sure it will do fine but please say a prayer for me and the wife. Wish me luck on the :spyder2:.

If it is an SE, the second time you should have been able to step on the brake to get it in neutral and restart. Good luck on the trip, I'm sure it will be fine.

Press the brake when you start and it should start and move itself to neutral. This is in the manual, as is the manual procedure for shifting it to neutral with a wrench, if you are ever in a bind.

Great..!!

:pray: two for good measure..you will be fine just leave the fretting aside and enjoy the trip. Let us know how it goes and maybe a pic or two....!! :ohyea:

Our 13' did the same thing prior to 600 miles

dealer looked at I during the 600 mile svc. found no issues. Has been fine since, not sure whats going on, but you likely will be fine. Have a good trip!!

Covered Bridges in the Rockville area are neat. You should have a good time. I will tell you most of them are on gravel roads and aren't the best Spyder roads but are passable. Enjoy your trip.

Sounds simple enough until the mechanic who came from a dealer to start my Spyder did that and it still wouldn't start. He spent 45 minutes working on that beast and then suddenly the starter cranked. Baffled him to no end, and it wasn't just once. My Spyder would be shut down in Neutral and then somehow it was in 1st gear. The mechanic stepped on the brake pedal - - just in case - - hit the start start button and the starter would crank, the engine would catch and then start bucking, hard, and shut down. This happened several times in a row before the starter once again wouldn't crank, so he told me a few days later.
:yikes: I find it hard to believe that they couldn't chase anything that was so overt. Perhaps they should call BRP dealer tech support for advice. I'd start by looking for a vacuum leak. Lots of bad vacuum hoses lately...same sort of symptoms.

I just wanted to thank everybody for all the well wishes on my trip. Well the Spyder preformed just great on the trip with only one issue and that was it stalled once on the entire trip which I covered 975 miles in total. But I must say that :spyder2:sightings are a rarity in my travels as I only saw two :spyder2: . One was in downtown Rockville, In. and it was a Black RS and the other was at a filling station somewhere in Ky. and that was a white RTS Limited. I did visit some with the guy that had the Limited. I must say also that we hit some rain on the way back home and that the Spyder does keep you pretty dry from the rain while your moving but the wife did get a little wet riding on the back. Can hardly wait till my next trip on the :spyder2:.
