• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

i sent my elkas back to them due to one of them leaking and they should be coming back soon. i have seen several pictures on the site where people have striped the front end w/o taking the trunk off, only the fenders and lights. can this be done on a 13 rt/s. i tried to do the shocks by reaching under the fenders and found it very hard to do so i had to take the whole front off. if it can be done please let me know. thanks john

Saw a '13 right out of the crate and it didn't have the frunk on, so I'd guess it comes off pretty much like the older ones.

PS: Do you have a Ronbar on? If so, did you put it on first and then find you also needed the Elkas?

John,
Those Elks will slide up under the front end slicker than ....Well; you know! :opps:
There's no need to pull all of the Tupperware loose from it's moorings.
Get the front wheels off the ground...
You'll need a couple of decent 15mm sockets and wrenches.
I used a 3/8" drive, with an open end wrench up on top where it's tight, and a 1/2" drive 15mm down on the bottom...
Get the nuts off of both mounting bolts first...
Get the wheel in a spot where you can jiggle/wiggle it a bit to take the tension off of the bolt...
I used a rubber mallet to "convince the bottom bolt that it was moving day... :D
The top is done blind and by feel, but there's actually enough room that I got through it with almost no bloodshed at all!
NOTE: Elkas mount with the springs on the bottom,,, You've GOT to be able to see the preload adjusting ring!

I installed the BajaRon sway bar and chromoly heim joints at the 1000 mile mark because the VSS was kicking in all of the time when riding solo. After that, life was good for a week or so until I got used to the better handling. The VSS starting kicking in again, so I'm putting the Elka's on this winter.

Since I am also looking into installing Elkas on my STS, what model of Elkas would you recommend?

I am about 170 lbs. and will be riding the STS solo most of the time. Also what settings will you recommend on the Elkas? Thanks!
