• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

I have the housing off now want to clean the connectors-connections to get better contact to start bike.

Question- Do I need to remove any more parts in picture to get at electrical components?

or just spray this all around crevices

this

or this going to auto parts store now,…..

I had another thread going on about this, link here ---> http://www.spyderlovers.com/forums/showthread.php?68406-Ignition-switch-Failure-not-working
but started a new one after thinking that ignition switch failure was not as clear as start button/ kill switch. I have done what others have suggested, and appreciate all the advise I am receiving. If this doesn't work I will have spyder towed in to shop today. Thanks!

I have placed Tags so if some other spyderlover has a problem with same and they do a search this will pop up hopefully as a fix.
Will post end result in this thread too.

Looks like..!!

things are pretty clean in there. Give it a shot followed by some compressed air. Let it evaporate and test. You should also follow the harness down and make sure you have solid hook up. Going further into the switches can be tricky. Little springs and ball bearings you need to keep track of. Keeping my fingers crossed..!!

Will let you know the outcome and fix.

I am sorry it had to go away on a flatbed. But the sooner it goes, the sooner it will come back. Let us know what they find.

Bummer TB!

Here's to hoping they find the fault and get the parts(if needed)quickly nojoke

I could have fixed that I bet.

Those are sealed bubble switches and YES! They do go bad over time.
You would have had to remove the white plastic cover and removed the small metal buttons. Then cleaned that all up and put it back together.
I have cleaned sealed bubble switch like this many times and it can be done.

But looks like your dealer has a job to do. That is replace that entire switch assembly from the handlebars. Not easy.

I bet you wait a long time for the part. Sorry....

On the 17th I need to either cancel my BestWestern reservation in Durango,if I don't have my spyder road worthy, otherwise my credit card will be charged for the room.

:banghead: Should have checked with you first, I figure I have probably pressed these switches over 4 years and 50K miles at least 7K times each so maybe they did wear out. I take a lot of short trips on the bike riding around town.

If they say the part will take a long time to get then I will attempt to get BRP involved. They are checking tomorrow to see if it is covered under my 6 year Western Warranty.
