• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Polaris sells Indian Motorcycle

Probably didn't help profits when the AMA changed the rules for flat track bikes. Suddenly Polaris didn't have a market for their $50,000 race bikes. Hope they shift some production from another plant to Spirit Lake.

Be careful of advice... Never Grease your Sway Bar bushings!

I think I worked with that guy. He might have been my boss.

I guess I'm just not a Twisties guy!

Most of my riding is like that. I will never be a Dragon Slayer on the Ryker. Was on my first group ride on the Ryker a few weeks ago and everyone was well behaved and really enjoyed myself. Been on others when I had two wheels, some were good and others were a rubber band. Open up and snap...

    2025 Motorcycle of the Year

Ok, we have to remember this is for "NEW" bikes. I haven't really seen anything new from any of the motorcycle companies, just a rehash of what they have. Other than the Canyon, what is new from BRP? Just my 2c.

Will the Ryker drive train clunk reduce after break-in is complete?

I going have agree to disagree with you. Yes the Ryker is always in gear, but the clutch does not engage until 1800 RPM. The bike idles at 850RPM. I am not talking a big twist of the throttle. Just gentle blip (about 1100 to 1400 RPM) and then roll it on. I have been doing this for a while, and...

Will the Ryker drive train clunk reduce after break-in is complete?

A friend told me little blip of the throttle before taking off works. Tried it and it does make difference. Just my 2c's Bruce

Interesting conversation at the gas pump - asked why I chose to ride a Spyder rather than 'a real motorcycle'?!

I was on a memorial ride a few weeks ago. First group ride I have gone on in ten years and the first on three wheels. Over one hundred bikes of all types, and not one nasty comment. Quite a few came over to look at the Ryker and ask questions.

I've gone from ATGATT to H (just Helmet).

The ones who really piss me off are the guys on sport bikes all geared up for the track. With the girlfriend on the back in shorts. tank top, flip-flops and a beanie or open face helmet. The other is a certain religious group. They do not have to wear a helmet. Even with a helmet, I have lost...

    Hidden Surcharges shouldn't be allowed!

When the ticket showed up in the mail, it's wonder you didn't hear me in NC. If I had repeated it here, the MODS would have banned me for life.:D Oh well, they are going to outlaw them soon (maybe next month?)(y)

    Hidden Surcharges shouldn't be allowed!

Got caught on a speed camera a few weeks ago. Small towns usually go from 80kph down to 60kph when entering (We were doing 55kph). But because there was a school nearby, it dropped to 40kph (the school was behind a church). Ok, my fault, but when I got the ticket. Set Penalty $75 Victim...

    Random thought for the day

They all think "BC" means "Before Cellphones"

Road rash sucks. Gavel rash is just as bad, unless a cute blond paramedic is pickling it out of your butt. Don't ask me how I know.

I've gone from ATGATT to H (just Helmet).

There are too many idiots on the road these days not to be a ATGATT person. Three wheels are more stable. But if you do get in a crash in will not be good. I know "Oh, I am just going to the store" - that's when something bad happens.

Why so many Rykers for sale?

I think a lot of the low mileage Ryker's and Spyder's being sold are from new riders. They want a motorcycle, but think they are to difficult to ride and that maybe a three wheeler will be easy. They don't ask questions or talk to other owners, they just go out and buy one. Scare the crap out of...

How can I tell the year of my Ryker?

What does your ownership say, it should have the year on that? If the ownership says '23 and the bill of sale says '24, there is a problem. Also did you buy it from a dealer or privately? Did they sell it to you as a '24? I bought my '22 Sport from a dealer in '23. It is registered as a '22.
