• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Just had light snow flurries over the last few days, nothing to shovel. :) But it has been damn cold. This morning it was -23°C (about -10°F) without the wind chill. Looking up my "Groundhog Stew' recipe for Monday.

Come on Spring !!! The only problem for me is that I don't think the snow pile in front of the bike shed is not going to melt until August.:(

For once the cold temps worked in our favor. Due to the cold temps the snow flakes were the small dry compact ones. We got about 15cm (6") with lots of drifting due to the high winds. Went out three times yesterday to clear it. Pain to shovel because it won't pack.:( Still, we are better off...

    Random thought for the day

One place I worked at we had a 1969 GMC pickup for plowing snow. We called the "Snow Chevelle"

Last few days have been mild. Most of the ice and snow melted.:) This morning woke up to -14°C and 30cm (12") of snow. The pile in front of the Bike Shed looks like a white "Jabba The Hut"

I've gone from ATGATT to H (just Helmet).

Back to the subject at hand. My biggest fear is something hooking a front wheel. I think if that happened, you are going for ride that will not end well. Almost happened to me twice. Some idiot pulling out to pass, I headed for the shoulder and almost didn't make it.

-8c here today and it's not snowing . :giggle: Ma Nature is finally giving us a break. Since the freezing rain on Boxing Day, we have had 40 to 50cm (15"to 20") of snow. If you see a snowbank moving, watch out it might be a "Polar Bear" ;):D Happy New Year

Man! She must be really pissed. In the last five hours, we got another 20 to 25cm (8" to 10") of snow. Fluffy, light, stuff, easy to shovel. Just did the walks. Plows haven't been by yet (that will be fun!) Sledders might be happy; me, I want an early Spring. :p

Ma Nature is in a BAD Mood. Saturday had 10cm of crust on top of the ice. Shoveled that off, put salt down and that didn't do anything.:( Sunday rain, that and salt helped to loosen some of the ice. Go out with the ice chopper and clean what I could. Go back inside and dry off, let the rain...

Yesterday was great. No snow at our friends place. Got home about midnight with clear skies, no close encounters with Bambies.:) About 10am this morning the crap came, rain, freezing rain, sleet. Tomorrow is supposed to be better. Think I will be scraping ice off the walks later.:(

We had rain and warm temp's that got rid of a lot of the snow. Today was sunny with temp's above freezing. Christmas Day is going to be sunny with no snow. A good day for traveling, as we are having Christmas with extended family 60 miles away. Just have to watch out for Bambi's.
