I'm in Northern Idaho tonight. I can now report that the Western US has been very hot. In 4 days I have only been able to do top-down for 2 mornings. Otherwise, it has been just too hot all through Arizona, Utah, Wyoming, Montana, and now Idaho. Tomorrow, I go into my original home state of Washington. For those not familiar, Washington has a big ol' mountain range called The Cascades running down the middle from North to South. The Eastern half is much dryer and arid with hot summers and cold winters. The Western half is (a lot) wetter with generally mild winters and summers that are very pleasant. Stay safe and hydrated... Jim

Hey Jim, how about some pictures of your travel. If you want to give us a little more information, that would be awesome.

Anyway, I am still on vacation in Tennessee. Kind of my first real vacation time here. Usually we would just stay two days and then off to Indiana. This time it's a scheduled 10 day trip. Basically the temperatures are almost the same as Indiana.

Currently foggy till 8am at 70°F. This is normal for the area after a rain storm.
Yesterday's rain was excessive but definitely needed.

Today we are looking at 87°F for the high 😀.
Low at 69°F with some clouds.
No rain in the forecast for today.
Ryde Safe and Enjoy your Time.

Till Next Time. (y)

Just a quick note about my vacation time in Tennessee. Today we will be traveling back to Indiana. The wife and I have enjoyed the time and seeing about everything a body could do. If you can believe it, we failed to take any pictures of real value. Sorry about that problem. Thanks for your time. (y)

We had the first sunny day here for a while, but it was still cold here in my part of South Oz! The overnight temps last night dropped to 3° C; while despite the beautiful crystal clear blue skies we had all day today, the max temp only made it as high as 8°C... The 'feels like' temps of both were about 4° lower and this morning's frost was pretty hard, too crunchy for an early morning ride, but by about 10:00, if you could find a place in the sun that was out of the wind, it wasn't anywhere near as soggy as it has been, and it was quite nice to be able to sit out in the sun for a change. The short ride I went on this arvo was still a bit chilly about the extremities tho, but I hadn't really intended to be out for too long anyway, so that wasn't a major problem, and nothing fell off! 😏

The last few weeks have been pretty dank & wet here, just not really all that beneficial for our water storage, cos most of the soil has been without water for so long that it's become hydrophobic, and the region has had a lot of erosion problems instead of the rain working to fill the almost empty dams & reservoirs. And just to top the afternoon off, I hadta harvest most of my back-yard garden grown cauliflowers a tad early (smaller than they could've been, but it's still a good thing we have a large freezer!) and wash them all off very carefully, cos it seems that the local population of frogs discovered them in the last couple of (wet) days and found them an irresistable egg laying site - so the cauli's have been harvested, cleaned, chopped up, blanched, vac packed, and now are in the freezer (hopefully frogs eggs & tadpole free); and I've transferred all the washed off frogs eggs I could gather up into a fallow garden bed with a breathable cover over it to keep the birds & frost off. Maybe the next crop of frogs will be bigger'n better than this season's crop of cauliflower?! Not sure they'll taste anywhere near as good in a cheese sauce tho?!

We're expecting another overnight low of 3° C, and another clear & sunny day tomorrow with a max of 15° C, and similar on Friday, but the 'cold and wet' weather is due back for the weekend and most of next week! That's still gonna be better than the 'Cold Bomb Cyclone' weather that's hitting pretty much the entire East Coast this week, and forecast to last well into next week!! There are places over that way doing it tough - bushfires last Summer, floods in Autumn, and now more bloody cold weather, howling gales, and freezing conditions for the first half of Winter!

I, too, don't have any pictures. I just don't take them for no particular reason. I guess if I had pictures I could sit at home and relive the touring experiences from past years. But instead, I tend to just go on another road trip to refresh my memory. So far 3 out of 4 motels are places I stayed at previously. So, they remembered me while I was remembering them. Makes checking in a breeze...... Jim

Well it's great to be back home in good Ole Indiana. The wife and I enjoyed the vacation. Now she's thinking about the next time. Missouri is on the list. Any suggestions will be welcomed.

It is amazing how fast the grass grows. Oh well, it's ready for me to get out there and cut it. Only takes about an hour.

High today of 88°F with sunshine. Low at 68°F with sun.
No rain.

I hope you are doing well and can enjoy your Ryde Times.

I'm in Mount Vernon, WA. (state). High today is 68 degrees, wind at 7-9 MPH, humidity is 47% and the sky is mostly cloudy. (Although the locals would call it partially sunny). The future forecast shows the next 10 days with highs in the 70s and lows in the 50s. PERFECT!!!

Drove highway 20 from it's beginning in Idaho over the North Cascades Highway. A drive/ride I highly recommend. I've done it many times by motorcycle and trike, even did it by bicycle about 50 years ago. This was the first time by car in my memory. I will eventually follow 20 to its end on the Olympic Peninsula. But journey will come after a lay-over in Mount Vernon and Anacortes, WA for the next 5 weeks. Stay safe..... Jim

Jim, that sounds like a great trip and good weather to boot. Really can't have much better than those temperatures. Enjoy your time and stay Health.

Yesterday's sunshine was great. Got all my yard work done. The wife said it sure looks nice.

Today we are scheduled for 91°F with sunshine all day.
Low at 66°. No Rain here.

Have a Safe 4th.

Weather here in North Alabama currently 70° with a expected high in the low '90's. A few clouds mainly sunny all day so a nice day to Ryde. No rain is expected today.
Stay safe this 4th of July.

Mount Vernon, WA. currently 60 degrees, high will be 71, low at 52, breeze of 4-6 MPH, humidity at 78%. Lots of sunshine for the 4th. Much better forecast than back home in the Arid-Zone-A desert. There, it will be 105-110 degrees for the next 10 days. Lows will be in the mid to upper 80s.

Had to actually turn the heat on in the motel last night. Haven't felt cold in a long time. But, I WILL NOT wear long pants! I'm staying put for the next couple of days. Then I will move into a monthly rental in Anacortes, WA. One of my all-time favorite towns. Today's project is to remove a multi-state layer of bugs from my old blue pony. Stay safe..... Jim

Well yesterday's Fireworks show was spectacular for us. Now the Weather News People are saying that we are under an air quality alert. The pollution plus the Fireworks are killing us now. I guess we all need to wear special mask for a while.

I believe that today's scheduled rain 🌧 showers should take care of 60% of the pollution. I sure hope so. Oh well live and learn. The wife said maybe we should not watch the Fireworks anymore.

Today's sunshine is going to be 91°F.
Low at 71°F with some bad air.

Sunday at 90°F with a chance of afternoon rain showers.
Low of 70°F.

I hope you had a wonderful 4th experience. Be careful about your health and enjoy your Weekend.

Till Next Time. (y)

Back home in the desert it is 94 degrees. The high will be 105 and the low will be 84. Gentle breeze of 4 MPH and humidity of 34%. Now for the good stuff... Mount Vernon, WA... Currently: mostly cloudy, 60 degrees with an 8 MPH breeze. Humidity is 75%. The barometer is rising, and the cloud cover is expected to burn off early this afternoon. High today will be 70 degrees, and the overnight low will get down to 51.

Watched last nights fireworks show on the big 48 inch TV from the comfort of the couch in my motel room. The show I watched was done on Lake Union which is in the middle of Seattle. It's surrounded by several parks, hills, and people... lots of people. Fireworks are set off from a barge in the middle of the lake for almost all of the city to observe. Quite a spectacular setting and fabulous show. I've watched this particular show many, many times as I lived on my boat in the area for over 15 years. Last night's show was as good as any with one big exception (IMHO). In times past, the televised show was done with background music that was coordinated with the fireworks. This year I had to mute the background "music"! They were broadcasting some kind of semi-rap stuff from people unknown to me (And probably my entire generation). Sign of the times, I guess. Us old people enjoy the benefits of the mute button. Stay safe... Jim

Well, here in Vermont yesterday (4th of July), we had very strong thunderstorms; some of the cities postponed their 4th of July celebrations due to the thunder and lighting that we had.

Today, we had sunny, warm weather. The humidity will start to build tonight. The temps tonight will in the low 70's. Tomorrow, the weather will be hot, humid highs in the 80's to low 90's. On Monday, a cold front will be coming thru. Scattered showers and thunderstorms are expected. The temps will range from 70's to 90's. The front will clear out on Monday night. Tuesday will be less humid and cooler, the temps will be in the 70's to 80's. The middle of next week the weather will become unsettled.

Currently here in Vermont, we have hot, humid weather. Today will be partly sunny, hot, and more humid. Highs will be in upper 80's to low 90's, and the heat index may reach the upper 90's in some cases. While this hot weather is not unusual for summer here in Vermont, it is just a reminder to take it easy and stay hydrated (water, Gatorade, etc.). A front is lurking in Canada, which may touch off a few afternoon thunderstorms near the border.

The cold front will try to move through on Monday. Showers and thunderstorms are likely along that front. A few may be severe or have torrential downpours in the Northern sections, but a widespread outbreak isn't expected. They are monitoring that. Highs will range from the upper 70's in the North, to possibly reaching the low 90's in the South.

The front is now expected to remain near or in the area on Tuesday, due to what is now Tropical Storm Chantal keeping it stuck in the area. So the chances for showers and thunderstorms will continue, though severe weather isn't expected. Highs in the 70's to near 80 degrees and lows will mainly in the low 80's.

The rest of the work week will be on the active side, with a few showers or thunderstorms on Wednesday. Some heavy downpours are possible on Thursday, but it doesn't look like anything serious. They are keeping an eye on that. A few showers and thunderstorms are possible on Friday, then Saturday it will be dry. Highs on Saturday will be in the mid 80's.

The current temp is 85 degrees and they have issued a heat advisory in my area.

Monday morning weather news from Indiana. Yesterday we had a little rain shower that was maybe 20 minutes.
Just enough to get everything wet for the day. Oh well, got to take some good with the not so good 😕.

Currently working on a cloudy day with the temperature at 71°F already. Definitely going for a short ryde time today. I hope you are able to get out there and Ryde.

Today is going to be 83°F with some clouds.
Low at 63°F.

Enjoy your Day.
Till Next Time. (y)

Here on the East side of Middle Tennessee it's supposed to be Sunny and upper 80s until 3 pm.
After 3 pm the thunderstorms arrive.

The 10 day forecast says Tuesday will be similar, but from Wednesday on it's rain and thunderstorms all day.

So I guess I'm going for a morning ride!
