There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. Is it possible to open and remove the exhaust honeycomb on a 2011 RT?

Is it possible to open and remove the exhaust honeycomb from the 2011 Spyder RT? I searched and found nothing on the forum.

How do I do this? I was thinking about cutting it and removing the honeycomb from inside. I can't find the pipe delete to buy.

There's a reason you can't find anything about doing this on the Forum - it's just NOT WORTH DOING! o_O

Still, I'm stubborn about some things, so just to prove to myself that it was actually 'possible', I gave it a go... 😒

And yeah, I guess it sorta is 'possible', but seriously, it took a lot of effort; no matter what I did/who I paid to do better welds than my chicken scratchings, it still didn't look all that great; it sounded much worse; and regardless of what we did/how we re-jigged the piping inside, it just wasn't very successful at all in terms of keeping the engine running/performing well either!! 😖

So I would strongly recommend that you just don't waste the time &/or effort in trying to do this, especially if you want your Spyder to keep running & performing well!! 🤬

If you really need something that still 'looks stock' or at least looks as if it has a catalytic converter in there somewhere, then talk to someone like RLS Exhausts (see the link in @TheMariner's post above) - they make and sell some very effective cat eliminator exhausts that not only look pretty good and have a resonator in the right spot, but your Spyder will still run and perform well without necessarily needing an ECU Upgrade! Or if you want something that simply replaces the Catalytic Converter with a pipe, no resonator & maybe even no baffles, there's a bunch of others available - Lamonster Garages do one pretty good version; Baldwin Iron Works do another that doesn't look fantastic but functions; and there's quite a few more. And if you want to read more about them, you can find a lot of info on this subject and the alternatives available by searching on 'Cat Eliminator' &/or by checking out the 'Similar threads' listed below - you might need to follow the bread crumbs down the rabbit hole a little bit, but there's a MASSIVE amount of discussion here on the subject! ;)

I am with Peter on this one, if you want to gut your Cat it isn't going to be easy and at the end of the day, "Why". You would be a whole lot ahead of the game to just do a Cat Delete! Can you clean the Cat out, yup, been there and done that but you're going to spend a lot of time cutting and welding and if you don't like how it sounds in the end, then what, you got nothing to fall back on, except maybe finding another one you can afford! Good luck!
