Riding my 2020 RTL, never used my high dollar extended warranty. I guess that's a good thing.

There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Everyone that I know that has a 2020 or newer RTL has had to replace at least one cable, handle, or both. This is definitely a problem that BRP should cover.

The handle broke 1st while trying to open the case. When I took it apart, I saw the cable was rusted inside the armor about 8-10 inches from the handle. The cable snapped when I pulled on it! I guess moisture got sprayed in and settled at the bottom bend? Waiting for the other side to go.

They replaced one of mine with the upgraded cable (I think it is stainless steel). Guess I will have them do the other one soon. Right now, my tools, tire repair kit, and jump starter is locked in that saddle bag.
I have a 2021 RTL with 43000+ miles, and still have about a year on the warranty. When it expires, I will still ride the bike, bought new, lots of add ons. No issues, do 90% of maintenance myself! Cannot justify buying new when this one runs great!

You can get to the latch from above. Remove the rear seat and the narrow panel (2 screws and some wiggling). You can slide the latch plate from there with a screwdriver or whatever. Putting the panel back is a pain. You may also be able to release it from under the rear inward from the saddlebag. Can't recall if you can see the cable where it loops down from the handle.

My Spyder is an RTL, a 2012, so it is kind of an antique. It has 81,000 + miles on it and would have more miles on it, but health problems have slowed me down a little. I bought it with 8,000 miles on it from the original owner when it was 3 years old, so it had no warranty. I did buy a two year extended warranty which I used twice, once to repair the compressor and once for something else that I don't remember. I also hit a deep pot hole and caused a problem with the shift shaft. I ended up fixing that on my own dime (actually several dimes). The Spyder runs great, requiring nothing but gas, oil, plugs, brakes, and tires. BTW, it has lots of chrome, and I love it. I have added a BajaRon sway bar, regular car tires, EBC front discs, EBC pads all the way around, some extra lights, LED head lights, LED driving lights, and a Hartco International custom seat. I will be keeping this Spyder until I quit riding.

I am the proud owner of a 2016 Spyder RTL. And Yes, it has been a great Ryde. It has the plastic polish chrome so no problem with rust or corrosion. It does seem to scratch fairly easily. Not like a '57 Chevy Bumper. You know how it goes.
