• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

See you next year!

Well, Welcome to the New Year 2026.
Hey Peter Aawen please give us a little
break here in Indiana 🇺🇸 USA. I believe that
we are about 15 to 16 hours behind your
local area of the World.

Thanks for all your Help with this Forum 🙏

Based on the Sidereal Year which is the actual number of days it takes the Earth to orbit the Sun, and the fact it has been 2 years since the last correction, it will not be a New Year until around Noon of 1 Jan, 2026. The Calendar Year is just a figment of your imagination, since there is approximately 365.256 days in each year based on the location of the Earth's orbit in relation to the position of the Constellations and Stars.

The New Year will never be absolutely on the correct time, since even in a Leap-Year, the correction is not placed in the fictional calendar used by you Earth people until the end of February. 😁

"End of February"? Do you mean every four years, which is still two years away?

That is correct. If the re-alignment of the calendar which is in use by a large portion of the planet's population does not occur every 4 years, then in only about 600 years time, the people of the Northern Hemisphere would be celebrating Christmas in mid-summer, with weather close to what it now is during July. The people of the Southern Hemisphere would be having Christmas close to the Winter Solstice as the Northern Hemisphere traditionally has done. The calendar in popular use would slowly creep away from the seasons as they normally occur and also the positions of the Constellations and individual Stars would slowly switch completely about every 600 years. Navigation by the Stars would be impossible and determining the calendar date or position on the globe would not be accurate or even close without computing the huge correction that would be required. Planting or harvesting of crops would be thrown into chaos, as would many other activities.

The time on your watch is also a figment of your imagination and cannot even be used to predict sunrise or the tides.

All you need to know to understand why the calendar in current use is screwed up, is that it originated in 1582, introduced by Pope Gregory XIII as a reform of the Julian calendar to better align with the solar year and fix the timing of Easter. It has not been updated since.

If that is not enough information, about 50 years after the introduction of the Gregorian Calendar by Pope Gregory XIII, the astronomer Galileo Galilei was placed under house arrest for declaring the Earth revolved around the Sun (heliocentrism) after his trial by the Roman Inquisition in 1633, following his publication of Dialogue Concerning the Two Chief World Systems, and remained confined until his death in 1642. He was found "vehemently suspect of heresy," forced to recant his views, and sentenced to live in his villa near Florence for the rest of his life.

The calendar in general use by the public today originated while the Earth was believed to be the center of the solar system with the sun, planets, moons, and asteroids rotating around it.

Of course, to put a more accurate and useful calendar into public use now would require a dozen world conferences, thousands of committee meetings, and it would still be like trying to get the public in certain countries to use the metric system. People are always opposed to what they don't understand and reluctant to accept any changes from the way it was always done, even when that is all wrong, and the new system would be far more accurate and less complicated for everyone.

I take rides on the Spyder when I can (sometimes life gets in the way), usually from April to Oct - that is the motorcycle season for me here in Vermont. After Oct to Dec, I get the snowmobile ready for the sled season, which is from Dec to March. Then I'm back on the Spyder.

I usually don't get much down time from Oct to Dec
