• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

This forum has been a disaster since Lamonster had to give it up. It’s hard to use and hard to navigate and yes I’m on other forums. Why only two pages of For Sale by Owner? Now you’ve deleted an item I had listed on there and I can’t figure out why.

I thought the transition was pretty seamless myself. I’d hate to have to taken on such a task myself.

Running any of these types of sites is far from a trivial workload.

Asking your question is entirely valid, but your opening statement was in my opinion totally uncalled for. I think an apology would be in order.

We have 2 choices in this life. Leave because something bothered us, or stay for the people who care about us. Unfortunately, most choose the first option, then find something that bothers them at the next junction.

I agree with mecsw500. Why not find out what went wrong before pulling the pin.

my only complaint is scrolling through 2 pages of new members when you are accessing the forum on a phone. I moderate a forum on Facebook. We acknowledge new members once a week, and let them know who the mods are, all in the same post. Much nicer. But since I am just a user I will take what is given. I find the forum very useful.

Like everything in life there are changes as you go, and you have to get used to them! For the most part the changeover wasn't that bad, things changed a small, small amount, and are working well in my book! If you had something go wrong with your posting in the for-sale postings you should have DM a monitor and asked them about it! Good Luck!!!

Yes, it is different. But at the same time, it is the best one that I have found for the spyder community. I am grateful that someone was able to take it over and keep it going. That is a task that not many would undertake. I am getting older and hate change, but that is something that I have to deal with, the world isn't going to wait for me, and I know that.

Like others have already posted about this Forum. I have enjoyed being a part of Spyder Forum for almost 9 years now.

Yes, a lot of good changes have been made to improve the quality of Spyder Forum.

For example if you have a cell phone, technology is coming all the Time.
Just wanted you to know and understand how things work out moving forward.

I hope you find what you want.
Enjoy your Day and Ryde Safe. (y)

I have to agree 100% with WisconsinDavid. This is a great place to be. It provides not only valuable information and comradery. It's also quite entertaining at times. As far as I know, the moderators do this more for love than money (for which there may be none of the latter). And I suspect it's a lot more work than we realize. They could pull the plug on this forum tomorrow. And then where would we be? I think a modicum of appreciation would be a good thing.

It does appear that Kingz is gone. Sadly, it's to his loss. If you're not hitting the occasional bump in this life's road, it means that you've stopped moving. And that, I think, can be the saddest state of all...

Stay in the saddle as long as you can. Enjoy the smooth road when you find it. And keep the good times in mind when you hit that occasional rough patch. We are all here for each other when needed.
