• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

So where does this one fit in.....

After doing a little reading (and laughing) about this, apparently the idea is to provide another tire contact-patch for added traction and stability. I dunno, it looks like it would corner about as well as a 100-car freight train.

    Tires

I have found that Crisco Vegetable Oil works wonderfully in my 2017 RTS. I use Radon Gas in my tires, and set the pressure at 120 psi. It's a radioactive gas, but I find that it gives a much smoother ride. It also improves visibility by giving my tires a healthy glow at night.

OEM fuse block fuse to change accessory power to nonswitched

Are you talking about the 12V accessory port? On my 2017 RTS it's the RH Fuse Block. If the Fuse6 is installed the 12V power outlet is only operational when ignition is ON. If Fuse7 is installed, then 12V power outlet is operational all the time. I switched mine to Fuse7 installed so I can...

    2018 Yamaha Nikon three wheeler

I look at it from a completely different perspective. The Niken would likely be much more nimble than a Spyder, and more stable than a normal two wheeler. I like it, and it will probably end up in my garage depending on reviews. Either as a replacement to my Spyder, or an addition to it. Hank

    Bama Fall Color Ride

This last weekend was probably some of the best riding of the entire year in N. Alabama. 75-80 degrees, clear, and the leaves are really starting to turn. Did a couple of Fall Color rides to check out the scenery. Attached a couple of pics looking North from the top of Monte Sano Mountain in...

    BRP CAME THROUGH FOR ME

I'd be interested to know what happened behind the scenes between BRP and the Dealer after that last nasty email you got from the dealer. I guess we'll probably never know. Glad it got resolved. Hank

Let Me Tell You A Story....

Jeeeez..... It's stories like these that make me :yikes::gaah:at the thought of taking my Spyder into a dealer.

    Dead stick turn

Ron, I hate to even try to disagree with a noted expert on Spyders, but in this case I think you might be mistaken about the bold part of the above quote. On my 2017 RT-S, I definitely feel the power steering when the engine is running and the bike is standing still. It's a huge difference...

    Dead stick turn

I have a 2017 RT-S and it's the same with me. Power steering works with bike running and 0 speed.

Spyder Insurance Cost VS 2 Wheeled Bike Insurance Cost

Strange.... Insurance is just strange...I live in the same city as adzgrrrl and use Geico. No MSF course for me. I have a 2017 RT-S and mid-range coverage as follows: Bodily Injury Liability Property Damage Liability Uninsured Motorist Comprehensive Collision Towing and Labor I pay...

    It's Going To Be January...

Curious Bob, just curious....when you put in your order, did BRP give you an expectation that the unit would be delivered earlier than Jan. 2018, or were you just hoping to get it early?

    Kill Switch vs. Fumble-Fingered Hank

Yep, done that too. But then I just give a big "Gomer Pyle Wave" to the person in front of me and pretend like it was on purpose. :p

    Name change on forum

Terribly Sorry..... I have lost 2 pets in my life....and they were both more family members than animals. I'm still not sure I'm over losing Cisco, my Siberian Husky. I just try to remember the good times and how well they lived when they were in my care (or, perhaps I was in their care?)...

    Kill Switch vs. Fumble-Fingered Hank

Okay, so at least it's good to know I'm not the only fumbler in the Forum. I think I too shall do a practice "oopsey" at freeway speed and at lower speeds..... just to get the muscle memory on restarting.

    Kill Switch vs. Fumble-Fingered Hank

Yes, it was rather unpleasant. This is my first semi-auto cycle, I don't know why I had it in my head that I had to stop. Lesson learned. I wonder if there is a lower-limit speed where it wouldn't work (20 mph, 30 mph...etc)?
