• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Where is the temperature sensor?

If it isn't broken don't try to fix it or you may end up with more expensive issues than you bargained for. These machines are computer operated and basically, smarter than we are. So in short, if you don't have an actual problem with the operation of your scooter, don't mess with it and create...

Where do you store your Cell phone??

TrackForm or TrackMount, depending on what phone you own. I use a combination of both to keep my phone secure and wirelessly charged. I also set it up for hands free usage through my helmet speakers.

    Just had Cataract Surgery.

What was or were the symptom(s) telling you that you needed this done? I may be looking at the same surgery.

F3T died rapidly after sitting 2 months, now no start - any suggestions?

Good suggestion however, too much starting fluid can damage your engine. Use starting fluid very very sparingly on that little high compression powerhouse.

This is one of the Weakest points of the RT, does anyone have other opinions?

The first upgrade I did on my RT was to install a rubber donut spacer in each front shock spring. Very inexpensive, and easy to install, and what a difference they made in handling. Add a BajaRon's sway bar and WOW. Super solid in the corners.

    HD Trike Lawsuit

A close friend and one of his friends purchased HD trikes and both had suffered mechanical faults with their machines. They each sued HD under the "Lemon Law." It had to do with an engine/transmission oil transfer issue. HD conceded and offered two options to both of them. One option was a...

What power outlet & fuse do you use for heated clothing?

As others have said, directly off a battery tender lead, and use SAE connectors. I use a 14-awg and 15-amp fuse. I keep the lead under the seat when not in use. Simple easy and quick, and I've never had a problem with it in 10 years. But if you want to install a "Waterproof 12v Cigarette Lighter...

Tell Me Something Good About Your Spyder Ownership Experience

I've owned so many different rides I can't even begin to remember them all. But because of bad knees, I had to give up 2 wheels and go to 3 and the Spyder was the choice. Not because it was a Spyder, but because it wouldn't fall over on its own. So it's not my ride, it's "the ride" that gives me...

So many complaints about the Spyders. Anyone with no problems?

Life is not perfect, everything has problems. Like I was once told, there's no perfect horse and there's no perfect wife. Simply pick one that has the faults that you can live with. So, I'm good with my wife and my spyder. Love'm both.

Are there any Lift kits available for RT's? Something to raise ride height?

After you scrape it the first time you should know, from then on how to recognize hazards and approach and avoid them. I've scraped mine only twice. The second time was my own dam fault. Mine is a 14 RT and I've done very well for a long time. But, I guess it's like a kid touching a hot stove...

Are there any Lift kits available for RT's? Something to raise ride height?

For sure! That's exactly what I did shortly after I bought my spyder. I could hardly believe how such a simple improvement made such a big difference in handling. Adding Ron's swaybar made things even better.

Amsoil 10w-40 metric oil - what do you think?

FWIW, I read in Popular Mechanics or Mechanics Illustrated years ago that 10W30 was the widest range of oil viscosity (at that time) to use because the additives to create wider viscosities built up in the ring grooves and hastened ring failure and damage. That was back when we, most of us all...

Front Pulley Failure! Incredibly Poor Dealer Response!

Luckily in my neck of the woods, I found a BRP certified tech mechanic who left a local dealership and opened his own service shop. I always tip him with a couple of 6-packs of soft drinks or several bottles of Gatorade. I've even brought him lunch when he couldn't get away from all the work...

Front Pulley Failure! Incredibly Poor Dealer Response!

"The owner shouldn't have to know more about their ride than the dealership." I've always felt that BRP's inept dealership service departments may become the primary demise of their spyder line of products.

Phone mounts and cup holders are akin to the mousetrap theory. Nice work GapRider.

Yep, that's it. I put one in mine.

How likely are Gang encounters on the road?

Do Not antagonize, I've seen it happen and the response is generally twofold. Stay to yourselves be courteous and polite and you will pretty much go unnoticed. If you're in distress, broken down, or need help, they may stop and assist. All bikers, in-law out-law big or small, grubby or clean all...

    Two Oil Observations ... I think ...

Hey Peter.........When checking our oil level with the dipstick, which oil are we looking at? The dirtier oil or the cleaner oil? I'm guessing it's the cleaner oil. Correct?

What's the easiest way of Lubing rear bag cables on '21 RTL?

Yes, that's pretty much how it works. I used it a lot on my dirt bikes but never had to use it on my spyder. I'm guessing that getting to one end or the other on a spyder's cable would be the most difficult part. Also, the spyder's cable housing may be a bit smaller in diameter than a dirt bike...
