• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Bummed out waiting for a part

As indicated on this and other sites, BRP and its dealer network can be their own worst enemies when it comes to customer service after the sale. Reputable independents are often your best bet for honest, reliable information and service. One good example of a long list, is BajaRon. Luckily I...

How long is the avg Spyder Spark Plug Life?

When I had the spyder tech install my last rear tire at approx 50K, I asked him to install new spark plugs. He said ok, but it's a waste of money and I'll do it if you want me to. He told me my spyder was running just as it should and a spark plug change is not necessary until 70/80K miles...

Any opinions on Monster Stage 2 vs Power Vision 3?

I like my stage II because it's simple and hassle free. Install it and it's always there if and when you want it. Don't roll it on so fast if you don't want it. Your adjustment or input is all in the twist of the wrist.

Spyder crash, Prayers for this family

Over the years it's mostly been the cars on my left when at or approaching an intersection that appear to not see me at first or not at all. Those are the ones that spook me the most. I'd like to find a dash cam that has a 180-degree field of view to record some of these drivers that pull out in...

Would you try Taking Spyder through a car wash?

I'm not so sure I'd do that, but to each their own, as the saying goes. I do, however, use the handwash high-pressure wash frequently because I can control it much more easily. The one feature I like is the hand held blow dryer to blow off all the excess water.

Spyder crash, Prayers for this family

Absolutely! The vehicle's front tires will telegraph where that vehicle is going and when. Give a quick look at the rims or hubcaps.

Spyder crash, Prayers for this family

It's so sad. :( Years ago, I made eye contact with a lady who was stopped at an intersection, but she pulled out in front of me anyway!?! Who knows what does or doesn't go through people's minds when they are behind the wheel?

What's best for Cold weather winter storage? Fuel additive? Battery care? Rodents?

AstroTom has it all dialed in for you. I found the simple little bated mouse trap and the battery-operated zapper work best. If you are into owning pets a kitty works well if it's a mouser. However, they like to curl up on your ride's seat and sleep on it. In doing so they tend to scratch the...

Do dealers have trade in age limits?

Years ago I had a good relationship with a dealer. One of the salesmen and I rode enduros together. When I bought a new bike the dealership took my ride on consignment because the salesmen knew my machine, and that I kept in good shape. At the dealership, it got a lot of exposure, more than I...

Anyone using Sheep Skin for Driver's Seat? If so, any input?

Yep, me too. I have a Misty Mountian full seat cover. I saved $$$$$ by buying it secondhand off SL's. Never hot, never cold, and comfortable. The only issue is keeping it clean. Compressed air is the best way to clean it, save taking it off and shaking it out. DON'T use it in the rain...

When To Replace Belt tensioner/Vibration Damper/Idler Pulley?

I don't recall the mileage on mine but I would reach up under there every time I put it to bed after a ride and check it. I felt the roller wiggle a little indicating the bearings were starting to get slack. And the belt was beginning to get very light scuff marks on the top of it that I could...

Should I buy new? Or keep the old 2014 RT Spyder?

LOL, so far I think the verdict is in.

Should I buy new? Or keep the old 2014 RT Spyder?

And at this point in time still remains to be the best.    :ohyea:

Should I buy new? Or keep the old 2014 RT Spyder?

NO. Ride your 14RT until the wheels fall off or the cost of repairs exceeds the price of a new spyder. When you're rolling along, what you're riding is secondary to the ride—if you get my drift—but getting to where you're going is also important. I have a 14RT and it's running great and it...

Warranty Question - Would you let a regular M/cycle shop fit a rear tire?

True, however, all my replacement rear tires (General Altimax RT43 215/60R15) with a cold psi of 18 wore the center of the tread down first. Not nearly as bad as the OEM Crapenda tire. (I've carefully checked tire patch contact at low speeds to get even contact but not at high speeds. I can't...

Brake pad rubbing noise - what is the correct way to fix this?

Just a side note. I would suck out some of the brake fluid from the master cylinder if it were full. If not then when you compress the pistons it may make the master cylinder overflow and cause a mess that's not good and difficult to clean up. I hate spilling brake fluid. :gaah:

Where to get engine oil analyzed...

Very well could be JayBros. The Greenie thing is taking a toll on businesses and the population out here. The person I spoke with at Napa was the owner of two stores here in town and I've known him for years so I don't believe he was BSing me. In fact, he went to the trouble of giving me the...

On a scale of 1-10 - how difficult is an LED upgrade

One suggestion is to avoid driving in the fog and at night. I hate both and have avoided both for 2 years now, so I know it can be done.

Are there any 'Not so expensive shock' alternatives to OEM?

Cajun1957, hit your F3L rear shock with a few more psi when going 2up. As for the front shocks try spring spacers. Before I found the SLs site, I installed Mr. Gasket's rubber donut spring spacers, and they worked out well for me. Along with adding Ron's sway bar after that, I'm sitting right...
