• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Perfect replacement for toolkit holder

I don't think I had mine for a month when the straps broke. I started wondering about the rest of the parts! Just left it there. Maybe during the 6 weeks the dealer has had my Spyder for the clutch recall.... they will just fix it out of the goodness of their heart. Nah, wasn't on...

    Slipping clutch

Well, at least you got it back fixed. Mine is still at the dealer and after 5 weeks, all I know is they hooked it up to BUDS.

    Corbin Armrests

Anyone have any installation instructions? Mine came with none. Thinking of taking them to the dealer and letting them put them on while it's sitting there waiting for the clutch and various other problems to be fixed.

    Insurance

I went through USAA to Progressive (USAA doesn't do boats or m/c any more) and got their "preferred" rate. $1200 a year WITHOUT uninsured/underinsured! The dealer recommended a broker in Spring who got me a policy with Foremost for 1/2 the price WITH ui! Search the forums and you'll find a...

Vibration Issue for RT owners only - Poll

I have a vibration (high frequency) between about 4200 rpm and 5500 rpm. I wouldn't call it a problem or an issue. There are lots of moving parts in a mechanical system like the Spyder. Sympathetic and harmonic vibrations are difficult to eliminate. I know it's there, so I just work around it.

    Horn

Jeez, my Spyder horn is louder than my Toyota! I was thinking of replacing my Highlander horn with a Spyder horn!

    upgrades for rts

If there is anything out there for a Spyder, you can find out about it here. The people on this site are collectively more knowledgeable than the dealers. I personally am not looking to go for a lot of add ons, but I have installed the third brake light and have a set of Corbin arm rests to...

    Passenger Arm Rests

So does anyone have any tips on how to install them? Didn't get any instructions. I hate to put this together only to have them fall off, WITH my wife!!

DPS recall not being taken too seriously

As I was told, CanAm didn't want a parts shortage that has happened in the past. So they did the allocation, based on floor plan and sold. However that came out, my dealer got 5 RS and 3 RT DPS's. Apparently, the units are being returned to the subcontractor for credit back to CanAm. The...

    Winter on way

I would hope that Dallas doesn't see any -34 degree weather. That would mean that down here near Galveston, it might freeze!

DPS recall not being taken too seriously

I just spoke to my dealer's service manager about my naked Spyder in his shop, and I wanted to ask about the DPS (which he calls the DSP...:helpsmilie:). He said he got 3 RT and 5 RS units in (which came in before he knew about the recall). Since mine is in the shop for a clutch, parking...

DPS recall not being taken too seriously

Hmm, you coming all the way to Galveston to get your work done? Sounds like my dealer. Mine is sitting in their lot, under the sun and stars waiting for a tool that they should have ordered 3 months ago. I think I'll wait a while for the DPS and let someone else sit on the lot for a while.

Dealers You Don't Want To go To

I guess with just about any dealer, if you drive in from out of town with a problem, they will drop all their local customers and get on yours. That's why it takes so long for us locals to get our rides fixed. Here's a thought, next time it breaks, trailer it a couple hundred miles away...

    Holiday weekend....where you going???

Going to Lubbock, by Southwest. RT-S is in the shop, been there for 12 days without moving. Said they'd get to it today. Same thing they said when I took it in, when I stopped to see if they hooked up BUDS, and when I delivered the body parts I took off. Maybe I'll get it back for that one...

    SpyderRyder.com

Just checked and it's down again. They probably have taken the site offline to put the new stuff on. There is a picture of the orange and black RS on the Error 500 page.

Link to pics of our Spyder

Not to hijack the thread, but you guys are making me ill....... I lost a '52 MGTD to Hurricane Ike, had it for 35 years. The Spyder was the replacement toy. Well, sort of....nothing can replace a post WWII British sports car!

    Brake Fluid Change?

Not a good analogy. Blood is filtered by one of the best filtering system, the kidneys. Blood is changed out or externally filtered when those fail. Having said that, brake fluid is not circulated, therefore no filtering is added to the system. Check for water and other contaminates (color...
