• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

side bag not latching anymore 2010 RTS (any suggestions)?

It's not just having the cable move but be able to move VERY freely. Mine was the same way. The cable must slide very freely inside the casing. It may appear as though the cable is moving OK but believe me, it's got to be VERY free. Most often, the routing problem is close to the release handles...

side bag not latching anymore 2010 RTS (any suggestions)?

The cable housings for all 3 compartments are very sensitive to routing paths. You will need to remove the tupperware on the rear around the center latch that also covers the portion above the side compartments. Carefully inspect the cable routing, particullary close to the release handles. The...

When is BRP going to solve the faulty Throttle Bodies?

Great to know. NOW, how do I go about having BRP and my dealer replace mine? After a year long battle with the DPS unit on my 2010 RTS and finally having it replaced again last week, I'm not optimistic.

    2012 RT DPS Problems

DPS Failure Couldn't resist adding my thoughts to this subject. I've had DPS failures for over a year now. Performed all of the suggested fixes, checked all the electrical connections, made sure I haven't contacted the brake peddle ect. ect. Each time I took it to the dealer, the failure...

FYI Oil Leak at Water Pump Shaft

Dealer tells me that in order to replace the seal the shaft must be removed and replaced due to the fit requirement for the shaft. Says once the shaft is pressed into place, it can't be reused. Don't know if this is true or not but trust my dealer. I think the water pump is built into the motor...

FYI Oil Leak at Water Pump Shaft

Update BRP has now informed dealer that the new shafts will not be completed untill April 2, 2012. That will make it 1 month without my ride. Can't blame dealer. Problems like this seem to be a part of owning the RT. I choose to purchase it, choose to keep it and now I guess I'll wait.:banghead:

FYI Oil Leak at Water Pump Shaft

Have my 2010 RT-S in for 24K service and while it's there, the dealer is fixing the oil leak at the water pump shaft that several here have experienced. After having BRP send them 2 replacement shafts, the RT is still in a state of disrepair. Seems the replcement shafts were made wrong (extended...

    RIDE-ON "vs" SLIME

I have used Ride-On in all 3 tires on my RT-S for over 2 years, 3 new rear tires, one set of new front tires and 25,000 miles. I don't have any wheel weights on any of the rims. My experience has been "very satisified". As I understand it, "Slime" is not rated for over the road use and is...

    Evo RT sway bar

Looking for contact info to obtain an "EVO" sway bar for my 2010 RT-S. Guess they are not a "Spyderlovers" sponsor as I don't see their info on the home page. Anyone have the contact info?

    2010 RT battery charger issue

I have a Battery Tender jr. and use the same outlet in the trunk. Works fine for me. Perhaps your RT battery is fully charged or you're not making a good connection. Cig. lighter in trunk is always hot so there should be no reason why this isn't working.

Has your RT ever ingested anything in the front air intakes?

During a trip across western Kansas, ran into some Meadowlarks. One lodged in the coolant radiator and another ended up lodged in the left front wheel. Rode another 70 miles till the next fuel stop and found them both. Surprised that I hadn't noticed some imballance in front wheel but didn't...

    New Amplifier and speakers

You seem to of ended up with a great package. This is something I've wanted to do for some time now. I already have the Polk speakers installed and would love to have the amp. Anxious to see the follow up with details. What amplifier (brand, model #) did you use?

My Spyder just left on a trailer

Have had an ongoing DPS issue with my RT since returning from Cuba Spyderfest earlier this spring. First time it occured, I was on the highway doing 65-70 mph and warning came on dash "Check DPS", lost all power steering. Was about 2 miles from home, pulled off highway, went home and parked it...

    Stuck in 5th

Reading all this with great interest. Havan't noticed if anyone with this problem stated if their RT was manual or semi automatic transmission. At any rate, my 2010 RT had the same problem last year with 10,000 miles on it. It's a semi auto model. Stuck in 3rd gear. Dealer replaced valve body on...

    Weird vibration at speed

It's probably the belt. The Spyder has a very long belt and the return side tends to vibrate and differing speeds depending on the belt tension. You can have the tension adjusted but the vibration will not go away but may change speeds where it happens. I installed a idler pulley (obtained from...

    2011 RT DPS

This has been a persistant problem with my 2010 RT-S the last 3 months or so. First occured on my way back from Spyderfest and now re-occurs about every 2 to 3 weeks. Had fellow ridder following me last several times and NO. I wasn't ridding the brake. Checked the battery and it's tight at the...

    RT tensioners

Installed mine nearly 2 months ago. Just completed a 4 day, 1,800 mile trip through the Colorado mountains and am very happy with the tensioner. Well worth the investment.
