• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Early Clutch Replacement

See this a lot on this website Is this just an issue with the SE5? Are the SM5 the same, or are they more forgiving?

    NC Helmet law...

Here we go again Wear a helmet or don't, it's your choice and your life. We don't have a choice up here, so never get worried about it. When I go south I keep mine on. My life, so I choose what's right for me. Your life so you choose what's right for you. All things being equal in a crash...

    This weather is killing me.

Last year this time I was swinging a golf club and riding. There was no snow left on the ground and the roads were dry. It was almost 70 F. My I-laws have a winter place in Texas. I have always chuckled about that. Well the laugh is on me. It is well below 0 C and know end in sight in the near...

What's best for Cleaning the Windshield? Anyone use Pledge?

Seen it mentioned a few times. Plexus is what I use. If so many others do, then it s a safe way to go.

    Cell phones & cagers

North Dakota I was down in North Dakota last Easter on some single lane Highway heading back to the border. I was overtaken by an HD. I thought great. He can be my radar detector. My jaw dropped when he pulled a cellphone out of his vest pocket and started texting on his bike at 75 mph. Not...

full face vs half vs beenie helmet

Sensational The media don't care about people when they report the news. Sorry if anyone from the media on this site, I don't intend to offend, even though it is offensive. Journalism 101, don't become emotional involved in a story. They sensationalize the news, ask some incredibly stupid...

    The Devil's Whip

Thanks for the Video I had almost forgot how much I enjoyed the sound of the Spyder motor and the thought of accelerating through curves. One more heavy snow fall some time today and a week of -20 C and hopefully it will start to melt.

    Weird Dealer Experience

I never had a problem. ...Went once and looked at it and talked. He wanted me to take it for a ride then, and I wasn't up to it. Came back a second time with my wife to have a look at it. He wanted me to take it again. I said I didn't have time. Went back a third time on my own. Completed a...

Tell your story. What was the moment you knew you had to have a Spyder?

Didn't even now they existed until last year Saw an RS in the parking lot at work, owned by one of my coworkers. I thought it was interesting. When he showed me it was a semi auto, I was surprised. About a month later I was at a junior hockey camp with my kid and there was an RT parked outside...

full face vs half vs beenie helmet

Agree to disagree You guys are both saying the same thing in different ways. Everything we do involves risk. I have witnessed more people die in car crashes than on motorcycles. The obvious reason being there are more cars on the road than motorcycles where I live. This wear a helmet, don't...

full face vs half vs beenie helmet

Law enforcement for 23 years and still in it, spent a good number of those years reconstructing crashes (still do). Lots of them were bikes. I watched a guy die in my arms who ran his HD into the passenger side door of a sedan with a pee pot helmet. His forehead dented the roof line in 10...

    Accident and Spyder totaled

Glad you are okay That is impressive. Bike held up well. You stayed on it. All a plus. Glad you weren't on two wheels, you'd have to type this out with a pen in your teeth. Get yourself checked out. And again, glad you came out it walking wounded, it could have been so much worse. Back on the...

What does the average Spyder Owner pay for insurance in Canada?

No options $836 for April 1 to October 31. This includes registration and insurance. An additional $150 a year to cover the months the bike is not on the road. This is for $100 deductible and million dollars liability. This includes a 15% good driver discount. In my Province it doesn't matter...

    Fuel Mileage/ Fuel Tank Size

I have the same bike. I used to fill up by the gauge. Now I fill up by the low fuel light, when I am in the city. 180 km is the lowest I have ever done on a tank, mostly city driving. I can get 280 to 300 km on the highway. Combined driving the normal is about 240 km. I have never put 25 litres...

    Update clutch problem

whats wrong with taking it easy. I just find it hard to believe when I don't abuse a motor an clutch system and pamper it, I am causing damaging to it. I can go hard core on a bike just like the next guy:doorag:. Looking forward to it. I agree with what has been posted. The Rotax has a sweet...

    Radar Detector

YUP Your 100 percent right. However, why waste money that could be spent on different mod for the bike. :cus: happens. We speed, we don't get caught most of the time, eventually we do, not a big deal. Take what we get for what we do. It's all part of the game. Humans are funny, we all...

    Update clutch problem

Interesting, but some how hard to believe. When I ride 2 up with my wife on the back, I tend not to rag it. I drive conservatively. Real smooth acceleration and shifting. I probably shift around 3500-4500 rpm. spend most of my time in 3rd or 4th gear round town. Never thought I would be hurting...
