• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Spyder...Buyers Market

Ain't no one making a trailer out of this Sea Doo. 23 years and all original, including engine, pistons, rings, etc. The Rotax 580cc two stroke twin is a dandy. 55 hp by today's standards is puny, but back then is was best in class.

    Spyder...Buyers Market

My 1988 Sea Doo ($4,000 new) has bottomed out and actually started to increase in value as it now has collectible value. 23 years of fun made it a good investment. I have no false hopes of getting 20+ years out of the Spyder, but I mentally depreciate any toy I buy on the first ride and then...

Has anyone seen a diecast model of an RT yet?

Closet thing to the GS/RS is the Hot Wheels, available in either orange/silver or silver/gold. Haven't seen any actual Spyder scale models for GS/RS or RT.

Discovered today that Tim Horton's coffee (Canadian, Eh) works much better in BRP mug. Based on that hot beverage test, I think I need to try a Molson Canadian in it for a cold test.

I think I injested some of the RideOn and may be experiencing a plug of another kind. :gaah:

Just thought that I'd weigh in on the use of RideOn in the BRP mug. It does prevent leaks. In fact, it plugs the hole completely. No more spills. No more drinking either, but in view of the "colon wear" comment earlier, I may need to cut back on my consumption of the questionable beverage.

This has been a riot. If we can keep it going for another month. I'll actually be able to ride. I only use 5W - 40 Starbucks blend so I think I'm OK.

For $42 extra, You can get the three year extended warranty. It includes roadside assistance from 7 - 11 in the event you run out of coffee ($25 deductible applies). Standard coverage already includes GPS (Genuine Product Support) otherwise known as Carlo. :D

    Spyder accessories on Amazon.com

AT $42 it's a bargain since it has VSS (Volume Stability Sensor) otherwise known as a lid, DPS (Durable Protective Skin) otherwise known as stainless steel, ABS (Anti-skid Bottom Sole) otherwise known as rubber and TCS (Thermal Conductor System) otherwise known as double walls. I'm sure it has...

    Back rest

The BRP sport rack/backrest is expensive, but can be found at reasonable discounts on line. Its advantages are that it looks nice since it does not look like a bolt on, the curved pad really helps the passenger with the lateral forces and it is easily removable.

    BRP R35 Bags

Regardless of which set up you go with, the Givi V35 or BRP R35 (same cases, different mounting system), they are a very nice addition to the Spyder. We can fit our HJC M and L helmets inside. The cases hold lots of stuff and are easy to pack when off the bike since you can lay them down like...

    Sport rack & backrest

Just so you know, once you get the sport rack installed, you can no longer get to the inside tail light screws to change the bulbs. You can do it without removing that screw, but it is a PITA. If you have small hands or know a good eight year old mechanic, you can squeeze your hand through the...

    BRP 1" handlebar risers

Good clarification. Question on torque value for the riser install is actually two values, one for the nut and one for the bolts. The original torque value for the M10 nut was 29 - 36 lbf-ft. I was lucky when I followed that and did not break the shaft since I was about 10 lbs heavy based on...

    BRP 1" handlebar risers

My instructions say that the hub screws should be torqued to 15-21 lbf-ft.

    BRP 1" handlebar risers

So easy, even a nine year old can do it, but most of us are cavemen. You also need a nine year old metric savant to tell the difference (by feel) between a 6mm, 8mm and 10mm bolt. :D

    BRP 1" handlebar risers

It is a real PITA to install. My dealer has a $90/hr labor rate and while the instructions say 1 hour, it takes longer. I did it myself and it took over two hours. You have to remove several blind bolts of different sizes and the instructions don't tell what size. You need a slim head 1/4" drive...

    Call from Carlo's boss

There are cheerleaders and fearleaders and it all depends on what your experience has been with the Spyder. For you to be a cheerleader after your trying experience says a lot about you. Thanks for sharing, even though some will just call it corporate lip service.

    Saddlebags

The NR bags are very high quality and there was nothing about them that changed my mind. The R-35s are just more convenient, I like their looks on the Spyder and we could get our HJC full face helmets in the R-35s freeing the trunk space for jackets, etc. I resisted when the only set up was I7...
