• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    10,000 km checkup estimate

agreed, I bought the extended warranty due to the "new" product...not worried about the engine but I keep my toys forever and worried about the frame cracking or something along that line....so into the shop it went. This will be the longest that I have been without my bike since I picked it up...

Back from the dealership: parking brake fix available...

more parking brake info... Dealership said that BRP is not making the parking brake issue a recall item but a "fix-it kit, if they want one" because not everyone uses a parking brake or cares about it. There are different issues...brake won't let go easily, brake won't engage...mine engages...

Today I test drove the Red SE5 semi-auto

Call Clawson Honda, Fresno CA. The Red SE5 is their demo model...not for sale but it was fun to drive!

    parking break

...take it in! I had my bike in 2 other times for warranty work that included adjusting the brake. I had the opportunity to drive the new SE5 Big Red yesterday and one of the things I noticed was a very different feel to the parking brake.

    10,000 km checkup estimate

have the dealer recheck the maint. schedule... or not. Look in your book under maint. schedule. there is a * comment requiring the mechanic to do more extensive work. :coffee:

    10,000 km checkup estimate

Just a warning. The 6,250 mile service estimate was over $500. BRP requires a check on the valves or some sort of expensive thing. So I threw in about 15 warranty items to check:rolleyes:. Might as well ordered a face lift and tummy tuck.:joke:

Back from the dealership: parking brake fix available...

...but only if you take the bike in and complain! BRP is not making this a recall item but has an updated fix available....only to those who request a "fix.""

Today I test drove the Red SE5 semi-auto

I know, it is a little strange at first, but here is what I really liked: I have very small hands and the reach from the grip to the extended clutch handle is too much. After hrs of riding, my left hand muscles spasm, very painful. I can't even reach the turn signal button from the grip without...

    Why do people pull over?

Yes, several times. Four headlights, two of them zeon. Spouse said I look like a UFO landing when I come up from behind.

My last mod- Lamonster Cold Air Intake

Sorry Guy, I know and understand that you have to try...but it looks like you have recreated Frankenstein's monster, complete with bolts coming from the neck. Sometimes a cool, wet towel placed on the back of the neck helps to curb strange impulses....

Should we give the guy the benefit of the doubt? Maybe you have a long thumb and he thought it was your middle finger?

    Too short for a Spyder?

Jump in...the water's fine....or welcome to my parlor said the Spyder to the fly. I am about 5'2" and have ridden my Spyder over 6,000 miles. In wind, rain, through potholes, over RRtracks, through sprinklers, across lawns and over small squishy things on the road (missed the skunk). My husband...

They tell me I made history today

We (in Calif.) heard rumors that other states were thinking of changing laws due to so many people buying alternate modes of transportation. I went through the Calif. motorcycle class and got my m1 license anyway...so there is no question, no matter what state I visit.

Going from 2 wheels to 3

riding the spyder... ...is like snow skiing. Following the law of physics...since you don't lean into the turn, the inertia (?) pushes your body in the opposite direction. I find that adjusting my weight to the inside (turn) and leaning into the turn does not affect the bike but allows me to...

    Spyder Bucks?

along that line of thinking.... a few months ago I asked BRP if they could send out a flyer that I could copy...something with all the facts on it. There are some times that I cannot take the time to discuss the bike...on lunch hr, due at work or appts. They sent a black flyer with white...

    FYI: 6,250 mile checkup priced...

answer to Rokonman... I looked up the list in our owner's manuel and checking/adjusting valves does not seem to be apart of the requirement. However, if there are any recalls or manufacturer's advisements out they will take care of them at that time. They should be able to pull something off...

    Helmet recommendations - eyeglasses

A new modular shield on the market that we saw at a bike show....HJC SyMaxII. Check it out. My husband wears glasses, needs a modular to avoid knocking them off and it has a built in sunshade (like the Nolan, only inside the clear shield and cheaper helmet). The sunshade works with a push lever...

    Two Happiest Days

I am very happy with my scooter - the only negative reactions are from my youngest daughter and HD guys. HD girls are just happy to see another female rider. And I am thrilled enough with the bike that I order another $2,000 in parts (can you have too much fun?...). Kudos to CanAm and BRP...we...
