• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Can someone help me or direct me???

Assuming you have an RS, there are 4 bolts on top of the fender that hold it in place. Remove the tail light first, then the bolts. The rear fender is 2 pieces. Under the plastic fender there is a steel fender. The 4 bolts hold both pieces. Be careful of the tail light wiring. It is...

    Highway pegs for RS

I used these for 2 years before my wife took possession of her spyder. At 6'-2" with a 34" inseam, I found them more comfortable after I used some 1/4" flat bar to extend the pegs a couple inches further. They were still comfortable for me without it. My wife finds them comfortable also, and...

    "Phantom" Limp Mode

I believe this is the way. It's been a while. I think this is for active codes only. 1. turn on key 2. switch mode to engine hours 3. turn on start switch 4. hold the mode button 5. flash hi beams 5 times in 2 seconds

    "Phantom" Limp Mode

No problem. I know how to check the codes, just haven't done it, yet. I know I am pushiing the limits of the battery. It is the original, so 5 years is pretty good.

    "Phantom" Limp Mode

Running down the highway about 75 yesterday, my wife's 08 SM5 started scrolling "check engine and limp mode" across the screen. The bike didn't go into limp mode and was running fine. We pulled over, removed the key, put the key back in, turned it 5 times and the message was gone. No more...

    Aaaarrrrrrghhhh!!!!!!

Jeez, I feel like the minority. I try to schedule ahead of time when I can, but twice I have dropped by for an immediate problem and they looked and fixed right away. I bought 1 spyder and do most of the maintenance, so I'm no VIP. Just good customer service!

Adventures in tire replacement and now how do I tension the belt?

I agree with Starrider about the shock, bolt, etc. After I changed the tire, I took it to my dealer and asked them to check the belt tension. They checked/adjusted it for free.

anyone use a power commander on a 08 spyder

+1 My wife has a 2008 and I love the PCV w/Auto Tune. Yesterday she told me her bike was running a little rough at lower speeds. I hooked up the laptop, clicked a few buttons and all was good again.

    New Exhaust Pipe

I think not. There are many types of aftermarket pipe owners on this forum and I haven't heard of any major engine issues due to the pipes. You may end up needing a fuel management system (juicebox pro, power commander, etc.) When I put a glasspak on my wife's spyder, that was my dealers...

Did I miss the boat on the 02 modifier?

The PCV w/Auto tune does require an additional bung on the exhaust pipe. The PCV does not require the auto tune, but you will need a map. The auto tune automatically creates map info. I just installed the PCV w/auto tune a month or so ago. Wish I had it 2 years ago. It is imprssive.

    Wheel bearing average longevity

She was running about 80 mph. The bike went into limp mode because the speed sensor got chewed up. She handled it like a pro and AAA did the rest. The bright side, if there is one, is my dealer replaced everything under the RPM extended warranty.
