• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Valve adjustment question

Have 28,000+ on our 2010 RTS and haven't had them checked, and may not based on what I read. She starts strong, runs great and that works for me. I tend to keep RPMs low as am an early shifter. So far, so good. Now if Spring would only come, please!! Bill

My Wife does not like riding on the Spyder!

Hi JT, Lots of good advice from others here, for sure. Do you have a communication system for you and wife to keep in touch with one another? One thing that made some of the uneasiness pass for my wife Sandy when we first got our 2010 RTS was when we got our comm system installed and could...

New Recall Gas Cap Did Not Fix Gas SMell

Just got the gas cap for my 2010 RTS... My last name starts with an "S" so I'd figured I would hear others received theirs before I got mine. Am happy to say I have never had a gas smell with our machine, but will make the swap and toss out the old cap anyway. Don't want to wait for trouble to...

Adjustable Air Deflector - Bad Design?

Went to motorcycle show in Novi yesterday, and saw a new RT with the optional adjustable side air deflectors (under the mirrors). Was very disappointed to see that in the middle (straight) detent position, the forward edge of each deflector would interfere with the opening of the frunk!! That...

    Chrome Handlebars and Glare

Depending on your seated height and the size of your windshield (2010 is 27" tall, smaller in more recent years) as well as where you adjust your windshield (full up may be worst), you could be bothered by glare reflection off the handlebars into the windshield. There have been some times...

    Octane Reqirements

I fully agree - it's worth the extra cost. Also, with 93 octane, much less chance for spark knock or pre-detonation. Even if the engine has a knock sensor (don't know if it does) which would retard the spark timing to compensate. But why would I want to be running the engine in that sort of...

Will The E-Break Engage at HWY Speed?

I think you're right about the wind... I've driven around with the frunk lid unlatched (inadvertently) and it never popped forward (even on moderate braking). But I've never tried it either.... the discussion about the parking brake made me think about the frunk lid... I'd try it but I...

Will The E-Break Engage at HWY Speed?

That is good to hear they engineered a threshold speed to deactivate the brake. Does anyone know if the front compartment release is also deactivated above 5 mph? :dontknow: Merry Christmas everyone! Bill

    622 Trailer

Hi Harley & Darlene, We've had our RT-622 since May 2010 when we got our RTS, and we've found trailering it to be virtually effortless. We really barely notice it's there, even when fully loaded. Never have had any stability issues - it tracks straight and true to the RTS, even at highway...

How many miles do you have on your RT?

Spyder RT - New Analog Fuel Gauge Bulletin

My 2010 RTS is on its second gauge, and so far nice and steady (has about 20k miles on it). Hope I didn't just tempt fate! Bill

My Life Will Be Sad & Empty

Chapter 11 should allow them to reorganize their debt, eliminating most, and restructure an operating plan to go forward. If they go into Chapter 7 liquidation, then you can kiss your twinkies goodbye. HoHo

    GPS again

Hi Phyl, A few thoughts from my experience with my 2010 RTS and the Radio/CB/Comm/XM/GPS system I have. First, the CB can be turned off by highlighting the Squelch bar, and then pressing and holding the down button. After a few seconds, the CB will be turned off, and "OFF" will appear to the...
