• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Thanks BJT... just what I was looking for :2thumbs: So, as long as Oracle's (expected) acquisition of Sun doesn't fubar my plans, I'm looking forward to meeting a load of you. Thanks again.

Gatlinburg Hotels... Spyders in the Smokies

Anyone familiar with the Spyders in the Smokies event/location regarding best proximity for hotel accommodations? It's not clear where vendors, evening activities, etc. are and I'm trying to avoid being too far away. I'm looking at the Clarion. Thanks.

    BRP SIDE BAGS

:agree: Put mine on a few weeks ago and I love them. Yeah, the instructions left out the replacement and installation of the two brackets that fit behind the new plastic vents on the rear black panels. A bit frustrating getting to the end of the directions and there are major parts left...

    BRP Comfort Seat & Cowl

Just a heads up... The BRP seat cowl doesn't fit the new BRP Comfort Seat. Tried it last night. Note, I've been securing the cowl with velcro (as suggested on this site) to the original seat with great success. It doesn't fit, or look, right on the new seat. So, if you're looking at that...

    Rear brake noise

I've recently removed my rear brakes and did two things: 1. Cleaned and greased the backs of the pads. 2. Adjusted the parking brake actuator arm to the manual's specifications. Now, my rear brakes a dead quiet and it only takes 1-click to set the parking brake. Note: As the pads wear...

    bar end problem

Use air. Either a strong vacuum OR blow air threw the opposite end (via compressor hose.) Both techniques have worked for me in the past.

    torque numbers

He's got it right, 96 lb-ft for the outer axel nut; as opposed to some of the inner nuts... unless of course, it's a misprint.

    torque numbers

I sent you a PM with a pic of the manual page. It's an exploded diagram that shows all of the torque values for the rear axle and belt pulley.

    Couldn't feel my fingers!!!

:agree: You don't hold the steering wheel in your car tightly, right? You know how much the car will move/drift at all speeds... same will be true with the :spyder: Once you get comfortable, and relax a LOT more, you'll find your groove with the :spyder: and how much it will move/drift...

    footpegs for passenger... and rider

I've just added BRP's passenger extension pegs to my Spyder. Last Sunday my wife and I took a 102 mile trip along the CT coast line. She's very pleased with the extensions over the previous passenger peg position. Here's a pic...

    Spyder on FIRE

:agree: What's the :spyder: population to date? About 9,000? TWO incidents doesn't call for the most severe action: 2/9000 = .000222 ... GEEZ. Let's see what type of root cause analysis is done first before jumping to conclusions. I'm confident the engineers at BRP are all over this.

    New Mods

Thank you... and GOOD LUCK ;-) It is a chunk of change, but considerably less than some of the alternatives, without giving up quality; excellent fit & finish with stylish looks. Aside from some of the directions, BRP hit a homerun here

Please Help (I can't figure out how to install comfort seat)

Since a socket wrench won't clear the underside or the back side of the seat, I went out and bought wrenches with a ratchet built into them. Made all the difference... and I saved 4 knuckles nojoke

I just installed the BRP passenger peg extensions. My wife's 5'10" and they're a big improvement. I'll be posting pics within the next day under my post titled "New Mods"

    New Mods

Okay, no pics yet, but here's the highlights. - Love the BRP comfort seat; price is right too. - Wife loves the passenger peg extensions. A lot more room for her 5'10" stature. - I'm REALLY digging the BRP saddlebags; I bought the millenium yellow panels to match the :spyder: So, what do I...

    BRP windscreen installed !

Thanks Neez. Good info. I'll have to think about it a bit. Knee-jerk response is, I don't want anything else to add/take-off when working on the :spyder: I really appreciate the info. Thanks again.
