• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Can I get the radio to play when the RT is switched off?

I can see why they might do that. I depletes the battery pretty quickly....don't ask how I know!

Rear wheel weights and bearings questions

Three things: Yes you should balance the tyre/wheel. Your tyre will be marked with a dot showing the lightest part, this obviously tells you the tyre is unbalanced otherwise it wouldn't have a dot! The way most modern tyre changing mchines squeeze the tyre to break the bead will put side...

Forum is now showing UK date code

Just so you know...UK date format is day-month-year whereas yous USofA folks use month-day-year.

    Wheel alignment specifications

That's not my quote but yep, I just clocked that, I obviously had my squint thinking cap on, apologies to you, JC.

    Wheel alignment specifications

Yep, I agree. That's seriously wrong. Using the wheel rim as the datum (not the tyre) 2.5 - 3mm toe in is a good starting point. That's less than 1/8" for you USofA folks.

    Front Sprocket (again)

Be sure your new sprocket holding bolt is tightened up to the newer recommended torque. Original torque approx 92lb/ft, new one 111lb/ft iirc.

    How to loosen axle bolt

You only need to hold the nut, undo the axle from the left side. The axle is essentially a long bolt and nut, it matters not which end you turn to slacken it.

    Replacement for fuel/therm gauges?

Blanks are available from your dealer. They're fitted as standard to the lesser bikes without the gauges. They're plastic and can be modified according to any suitable accessory you might want to mount in their place. Ignition power and ground is available on the connector removed from the gauge.

Choosing a set of wires in a BRP dash to power a GPS device.

 You're welcome, that's why I'm here. Thanks for coming back and acknowledging, most folk don't bother.

Choosing a set of wires in a BRP dash to power a GPS device.

You can use the connector you speak of, it has12v ignition switched power - orange/red is positive, black/violet is ground. You may have two positive cables, one is for the gauge, the other is for the gauge illumination. They both connect together in the harness so you can use either of them...

    Why the odd Tire/rim size's - 2012 with 14" rims front; 15" rear?

14" is correct for your Spyder. It's the rolling radius that's important and 14" with the correct aspect ratio tyre gives the correct rolling radius. All good, no issue there.

Pulling a wire, trunk to back - 2021 RTL

You don't need to mess about running a cable from the battery. The battery is directly connected to the main alternator terminal and the alternator is directly under the side panel which you need to remove anyway to route your cable. Just tap onto the main alternator out terminal. Saves a lot of...

Spyders in Europe - any tips about renting one there, or shipping mine fm the States?

If you're really serious about the trip be sure to get good insurance cover which can cover financial losses. Much of Europe is in or close to lockdown, some countries have a curfew and Spain has declared a state of emergency. You could easily be in a position to have to cancel your trip.

    Rust dust

The problem certainly does exist on RT's but the F3 is a little more sporty so perhaps the drivers are a bit more aggressive causing the sprocket to move a little so starting the wear and the beginning of the failure. :dontknow: BTW, 92lb/ft was mentioned earlier in the thread as the tightening...

How much play should your RT Steering have??

I think an inch is a bit much but everything has some clearance, admittedly not much but it all adds up: Top steering shaft universal joint, top steering shaft bearing, lower U/J, steering drive mechanism, tie rod ends - 4 of them, top and bottom ball joints and then the rubber suspension...

What is the Stickiest Tire you've used? Front/Rear

I wouldn't normally recommend a tyre but your question is specific and since you're reasonably far north my best tyre so far is the one below. Both front and rear. Different sizes of course.
