• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    cb installation

All put back together. I checked the headsets prior to installing them in the helmets. One was boxed very nicely and was in plastic. The other was not in plastic. The one that was not in plastic does not work. I'll be taking that back to the dealer tomorrow for an exchange. All in all, I'm...

    cb installation

I gotta tell ya...the instructions for installation of the CB are weak. They leave out a lot of steps and are not really clear in many respects. It really is a much bigger job that I expected. A great deal of problem solving was necessary...however, I am glad I am doing the work. I have...

Let the exhaust wrap job begin

Sounds like a lot of work. My son and I wrapped the exhaust on my RT. We left the pipes on the machine. It took us two sessions of about 4 hours each and we definitely needed four hands. We used hot glue and stainless steel hose clamps to hold the start of the wrap. Good luck with your venture.

    took a little trip

I changed the oil and filter before I left so I know it was topped off. I checked it when I got to Delaware, about 1000 miles. The level was only slightly lower than it was after I filled it. I checked again when I got home and found that the oil level has dropped but is still within the safe...

    took a little trip

The wife and I took a round trip from Clearwater, Florida to Dover, Delaware Thursday to Monday. We went a total of about 2200 miles. I learned a lot of things about the Spyder. The most important thing I learned is that it is the absolute mac daddy when it comes to long distance touring. I...

    changing oil and things

I bought the highway bracket, gadget mount and fender tip led lights from Kewlmetal. I installed everything in about 2.5 hours. It would have been faster but the oil change was a PAIN. Never have I done a more messy oil change on anything. I followed Lamonsters guide and it was really easy...

    Insurance questions...

I think the bottom line is that insurance is legalized extortion. I haven't caused a crash in 28 years and, like most of you, I pay too much for the service they provide. But, it's what we must do to ryde.

    Insurance questions...

I have 100/300 and all of the extras including road side assistance/towing from Progressive. I also live in the Tampa Bay area of Florida which is very expensive for insurance. I have multi-vehicle discount (2 cars, 2 motors) and I pay $700/year.

    Slipping clutch

I spoke to the tech last evening. He said that the clutch seemed ok so he checked for other faults. He said that the SM5 has a vacuum selenoid that engages the clutch in order to reduce wheel hop on deceleration. Apparently that selenoid went bad and began to activate causing the clutch to...
