• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

changing oil and things

I bought the highway bracket, gadget mount and fender tip led lights from Kewlmetal. I installed everything in about 2.5 hours. It would have been faster but the oil change was a PAIN. Never have I done a more messy oil change on anything. I followed Lamonsters guide and it was really easy. But the oil just flows and drips and even with a pan made a mess.
Oh well, the beast has new blood...

Just take your time with the oil change. You will get cleaner with time. My first change was a mess. Last change I didn't even get a drop on the floor.
Hints if you want them.
1) Drain one plug at a time. I drain the tank first. Wipe the plug and
reinstall and tighten. I don't change the crush washer, that is up to you.
2) When I am draining the base of the engine, I remove the bolts from the
oil filter cover, pull the cover, about one inch, and the filter stays
attached. The oil from the filter area will drain in the oil pan. Once that
is done you take the cap with filter out and let it kinda hang facing down
to the oil pan. When that is finished dripping, hold a rag under the filter,
pull it all out and install the new one. This filter change was always the
messiest. Wipe the pug and reinstall. I don't change the crush washer,
that is up to you.
3) Wipe any drops that will have fallen on any metal.

If you use an oil extractor to suck the oil out of the tank you deal with a lot less oil in the pan when you pull the plug.

Does anyone have a link to Lamonsters oil change guide? I need to change my oil this week-end.

Any help would be great.
