• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Anybody go for a Ride Today? Post about your ride (with pics?)

Today's ride included great coffee with sausage, egg, & cheese croissant at Nichol's Nook coffee house in Springville, AL (about 25 miles NE of Birmingham). Life is good..... -

Most amount of miles/KM you have ridden in one day on the Spyder

Really enjoyed reading that so many Spyder-Riders are so active in racking up miles... My hat is off to all of you! At 560 miles, I feel inadequate to even offer it up! These days, a 300-mile day is about my limit... 200 miles of twisties wears me out. It's all good!

Looking at buying - If you are over 80 y/o and ride a Spyder, raise your hand...

81 and keeping my knees in the breeze via my 2020 Spyder RT. Voluntarily gave up my BMW RT when I turned 80 (as I had promised myself I'd do after 50+ years of 2 wheels). Last month was a 4 day ride based in Eureka Springs AR; Next month a week's riding based out of Natural Bridge VA (with my...

My solution to the Bajaron Ultra sway-bar 'clunk'!

Plus 1 on Ron's approach to helping us. I've bought 3 different anti-sway bars from Ron, the latest is the Ultra-bar for my 2020RT (which I love!). My most recent experience with Ron's shop is this past week, when my rear brake caliper piston could not be adjusted for new brake pads. I sent...

Lift Jacks Revisited - what's a viable lift jack to SAFELY raise a Spyder?

+1 - to use, remove the right-side floorboard. Once the jack is properly placed, there's an L-shaped, adjustable bracket that bolts the lift to the bike frame at one of the floorboard holes. It's very stable.

DID Make My Mind up! - Big D's Mighty Red Baron has Arrived!

I agree. After 50+ years of riding 2 wheels, I decided to get off 2 wheels when I turned 80, so I sold my BMW R1200RT and bought a 2020 Spyder RT in August 2022. After unlearning long-term muscle memory for front braking and counter steering, riding the Spyder with more and more finesse...

Front seat support piston failed again - I made a replacement rod!

The front seat support piston on my 2020 Spyder RT has failed for the second time. With 28,000 miles on it, I'm pretty bummed at the pitiful performance of the stock support piston AND the McMaster-Carr replacement piston. With no assurance that another piston will perform any longer, I made...

A shout out to Wrap my Spyder

My 2020 RT base was bought with 4,000 miles on it, and I love the Petrol Blue color. But, with black wheels and black all over the trike, the base model just looked dark and dirty to my eye, and I wanted more pop without getting gaudy. Wrap my Spyder had just what I was looking for and even...

What does your dealer charge for a rear tire replacement? This much??

My Spyder just got a new rear tire, and I'm a lucky guy... I took the stripped-down tire & wheel to a local auto shop, and they removed the old tire/installed the new tire (I supplied) in 10 minutes and charged me $25. They don't have the cone to fit the wheel, so can't balance it, but I have a...

What's in your saddle bags and frunk?

It's all good, and there could be no "right" answer, right?! My RT hauls around a LOT of stuff....some of which has helped save the day for other riders...which is a bonus. A packet of duct tape saved me when my Aerostitch pants' (whole length) zipper gave out in 32 Degree F at Aunt Bees...

Rear caliper piston won't retract - any hints/help?

Final Update: The new Caliper arrived and is installed. It took a LONG time and a LOT of Dot4 to get rid of all the air. And tomorrow morning the muffler will be reinstalled, completing this ordeal that began with changing the rear tire and dropping in new brake pads. Thanks to a friend...
