• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Is this the VSS not working? Anyone experienced it before? What came of it?

In reverse it would be even less stable than the traditional trikes with single front wheel steering because the two front wheels on the Spyder would still be doing the steering, and from the back end since it is in reverse. It would be like trying to drive some vehicle with single front wheel...

Is this Krikit Belt Tension still too tight?

Well, that about reading the manual didn't help much. The manual says to use some kind of sonic Belt Tension Meter P/N 529 036 115. When I looked up this magical device it costs over a hundred dollars as opposed to the krikit at about $25. Not only that, but BRP has none in stock and no date...

    Random thought for the day

Anyone can listen to whatever version they like. On most songs that were released while I was in high school or soon after, I prefer the original version that was being played on all the AM popular music stations at that time and performed by the artist who wrote the song. Just something more...

Is this Krikit Belt Tension still too tight?

It is not about the belt tension. It is about the consistency of the readings. The Can Am guidelines say to go by the manual to determine if the rear wheel should be hanging from the suspension or if it should be sitting on the floor. The belt tension numbers in the manual will depend on that...

RT Rear Trunk looks likely to wear where I press it to close it - is there anything to stop that?

Difference is the Harleys have metal fenders and side covers. The covers and fenders on a Harley are called tins, metal parts with primer and automotive type paint. Spyders are covered with tupperware. You would hardly compare tupperware to a primed and painted tank or fender.

Don't sound much like Simon and Garfunkel, but not bad. I have heard worse trying to sing it.

RT Rear Trunk looks likely to wear where I press it to close it - is there anything to stop that?

Might want to look through this when you got time. Most of these are peel and stick. Got one of the generic tank protectors on top of my tank to protect it from and wear from the tank bag. Stick ons

RT Rear Trunk looks likely to wear where I press it to close it - is there anything to stop that?

Got ballistic nylon soft bag strapped on the pax seat, so that can't get scratched up too bad. On the side where my knees rubbed on the side panels, I found a set of peel and stick, thick, embossed, rubber knee pads on the web that belong on some other brand, don't remember what it was. I...

How can I tell the year of my Ryker?

Yeah, I got all that. The system used here (USA and Canada) to designate the year on the VIN is not used in the other countries. Seems just about each one has their own system and their own VIN codes. I did read that the Can Am VIN Decoder would return the history and specifics of any Can Am...

Oil - Full Synthetic or Synthetic Blend??

I will still change mine every 5,000 miles and all the broken balls and all the sludge can go out the drain holes and be turned in for recycling. I think they use it in one of the fast food places to cook french fries. Ain't gonna worry about a $50 oil change on a machine that cost over...

Is this the VSS not working? Anyone experienced it before? What came of it?

Right, the nanny would have to anticipate the stupid move and shut everything down before it was made. The sensors cannot see the future. The thing is, when people start trusting a computer chip to save them from the universal laws if they break them, somebody is eventually going to go too...

Is this the VSS not working? Anyone experienced it before? What came of it?

The nanny does not prevent sudden moves or hitting objects in the road on a curve at high speed from flipping the Spyder over. There is no device hidden under fairing that turns off gravity and centrifugal force if the operator exceeds the universal laws. It can be too late to prevent a flip...

Forum IT Support Question - how to remove "Spoiler" text from BBCode spoiler

You got a lot of information into a small area. There is a way to get around most all those restrictions on amounts and space. Be careful if you get over about 1200 word count or over 7,000 count on spaces and characters combined. Somewhere up there is a cutoff limit and the post will no longer...

Is this Krikit Belt Tension still too tight?

Most of the critical information on the belt tension was collected and now is all together with links to most of it, on the 7th tab of the FAQ Spyder general Discussion.

Oil - Full Synthetic or Synthetic Blend??

It is not just you. I change the oil and filter at 5,000 miles, no matter what the time between changes is. If the time is one year and I rode 10,000 miles then it got changed twice. One reason is in Florida we ride all year long. There is no down time. Another reason, it is very hot here and...

Is this Krikit Belt Tension still too tight?

The manual says with the wheel off the floor and high enough the rear suspension is fully extended. That gives more consistent readings. If you have it sitting on the floor almost empty fuel tank and nothing in saddle bags or trunk one time, and the next time you check it with full fuel tank...

Why does the BRP Oil Change Kit have 5.5 quarts of oil?

The small bottle is to replace what ran over from the funnel and dripped down on the floor when you pour it in too fast.
