• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Any thoughts about running Car Tires On The Rear?

Most experienced riders run car tires all the way around, and they all use about the same PSI. For more info, go to the "search" section.

Oil - Full Synthetic or Synthetic Blend??

Use either one you want. Both will work well, and if you change oil/filter according to specs, you should be good for many years to come. As a side note, I use Amsoil 10W40 and change it at 10K. I've sent my oil in for analysis, and at 10K I'm still well within usable range. Your & my engine...

Anyone know if there are Baker leg wings available for a '22 F3?

If you can find someone with a '22 F3 that has Bakers on their Spyder and will allow you to make a template from them, it shouldn't be too hard to make your own airwings. There's really very little to them, but darn, they make a heck of an improvement for comfort on a Smpyder, both summer and...

Brake squeak at low speed - any quick fixes?

By all means, applying anti-squeal compounds to the back of your pads is definitely not a "quick fix". I had a momentary slow speed squeal in my brakes when my spyder was relatively new. The dealer service department lead mechanic said next time I was at the high pressure carwash, hit the rotors...

HowTo: 5 1/4" Rear Speaker Mod on a 2014 RT

On the Sena SM10 there is a boost feature. Combined with that and if you wear hearing aids, you can crank up your stereo loud enough to wake up the dead. And all the while being courteous and not disturbing the rest of the world with whatever type of music you prefer to listen to.

HowTo: 5 1/4" Rear Speaker Mod on a 2014 RT

Sena - easier to mount, and sounds better. Besides, other folks don't like my kind of music. LOL

My first really, really close call on the Spyder

The most common statement by a driver who has collided with a motorcycle is, "I never saw it, or I didn't see it." And for the most part, that's true. Likely 99% of the people who drive have never owned or driven a motorcycle, and therefore are barely conscious that motorcycles even exist. When...

My first really, really close call on the Spyder

Stupid comes in all shapes, sizes, colors, sexes and ages. There is no one dead or alive who hasn't done something stupid. The big difference is that most of us learn from our stupid mistakes (close calls), which should prepare us to avoid those who never learn effectively.

Has anyone used one of these trailers? Any doubts?

Yes, so far I've only used it once for the Spyder. We had to evacuate due to a forest fire, and my wife towed it behind her car. It came in very handy for that reason. Drive on, two very simple tie downs, and gone.

Has anyone used one of these trailers? Any doubts?

I seriously contemplated modifying one of these to carry my spyder facing forward with all three wheels off the ground. It's very doable, but with a lot of modification issues. Finally, I said to hell with it and found a great deal on this site for an aluminum trailer with a ramp and super...

    Sorry, BUT I'm OUT

Well, darn it anyway. It's appearing that if an easily workable solution doesn't pop up soon we'll have to set this situation aside at solidgranite's request. I have the time, equipment and some $$$ to assist, but unfortunately, I live next to the wrong darn ocean.

Sunday morning thinking out loud - on my Third Spyder, making the move from Two Wheels was a good choice for me!

Boy, ain't that the truth. But you know some of us (old schoolers) just love to play around with those extra ponies.

My 2016 RT-L - Planning on an Octane Research project

I agree AndysF3S. These types of questions and research have all been asked and answered years ago. Nothing new here.

    Sorry, BUT I'm OUT

My suggestion is to trailer solidgranite's spyder to Greenville for a proper diagnosis. If the repair costs are reasonable for that vintage machine, then we all can divvy up what solidgranite can't cover. JMHO

Spyders are New to me, and the hitch prices have a huge variation - which way should I go? Recommend any hitches?

What do you do for K&N Air Filter Cleaning? Use the Kit, or is there an easier/cheaper way?

Monster Fuel Injection (Wick-It Performance) stage II ECU flash reccommends K&N filter for it's ability to allow freer flowing air. They also drill two 1" holes in your airbox cover to allow more air flow. Don't over think air filters. After all, your own air intake is within 3 feet of your...

What windshield bug cleaner do you use?

NEVER use paper towels! They put faint hairline scratches in plexiglass that can never be removed. Use an old cotton T-shirt that's been through the wash 100 times. Wet the windshield and allow it to set for a few minutes without drying out. JayBros has a great method. I'm going to try that.

HELP: U-Haul Enclosed 6’x12’ - Anyone tried one? Any tips or tricks?

Certainly, that's what friends are for: and they supply the beer. What comes around goes around, both good and bad.
