• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

How different are the various V-twin powered 2013-2016 ST & RT models?

I always welcome an editor's pen! This is very good news, simplifying some research I'm doing and narrowing down options. Much appreciated.

How different are the various V-twin powered 2013-2016 ST & RT models?

Sooo... Any mods done, say shocks, to a 2013-16 V-Twin Spyder are, in essence, interchangeable? One size fits all?

How different are the various V-twin powered 2013-2016 ST & RT models?

I ride a 2015 ST Ltd. It was a short production run Spyder. So it's a challenge to find specifications, information, how-tos etc. specific to that Spyder. (I deeply value the two separate sections for the ST here on SpyderLovers and reference it frequently. But...) I've read many reports on...

Ever driven your Spyder onto a ferry?

I've driven my bike onto a ferry many times in Washington State and British Columbia, two wheels and three. Most of the ferry folks here in the West are quite good. They are familiar with bicycles, motorcycles and Spyders (a form of motorcycle!) Two wheels I've had to tie down on the Canadian...

Can the OEM "fog lights" become conspicuity lights with a bulb change?

2015 ST Ltd. Came with fog lights, which work as lights, but are too high off the ground to function as true "fog" lights. Which is, of course, only my viewpoint. (Pun intended) I've noticed a lot of bikes here in central Oregon running yellow/amber lights which stand out: YEP! I SEE YOU! Anyone...

    I am now Spyderless

You describe me when I could no longer ride two wheels. Wife suggested three. I’m there now, but every ride reminds me “This isn’t the same - by FAR.” Grief follows every loss. As an American, I well know there is a great need for your, and other’s, assistance, for there is much piss in us in...

2015 ST Ltd: Where does your rear caliper lie?

Ron Thank you. That's new information to me. Never driven a bike with a brain. I've ordered pads all around (from you) but I'll certainly check before installing the fronts. I should have done them all when I bought the bike (used). Lazy, I guess. Still some wear left on the rear, but enough is...

2015 ST Ltd: Where does your rear caliper lie?

Update Now waiting for new pads, front and rear, from Baja Ron. Rear had one half gone, the other nearly all material abraded away. Figure if that's the rear, the fronts are at least as bad. I'll be doing them all, then the oil change, then on the road. A three day project has morphed into...

2015 ST Ltd: Where does your rear caliper lie?

Thanks to you both. Like most folks, I have confidence in topics/ventures about which I have knowledge and/or experience. I like wrenching, but it has never been my vocation. I would cost the shop too much! Just about the time I know what I'm doing, that bike goes away and I have to figure out a...

Spyder shopping - 998 vs 1330, is the 1330 that much better?

I have the V-twin. I wish I had the three cylinder. Main reason isn't so much the actual engine, although that's part of it (fuel economy is a major benefit in my book.) It's access. Neither bike is set up to do maintenance. The plastic panels on any Spyder are a pain. But spark plugs and wires...

Anyone know the part # & how to replace the LCD DISPLAY on a 2013 ST?

Random clusters appear on fleabay on rare occasions. Whether they will fit your '13 is another question entirely. Good luck.

2015 ST Ltd: Where does your rear caliper lie?

I failed to take photos. A buddy did the disassembly. Now I'm putting things back together. Good news is I saw how bad the brake pads are and sent BajaRon some money. I'll replace all three sets. Here's my question: Where does the caliper lie? (If you have a digital clock or watch, go find your...

    ST Longest Ride Ever

Sheepskins are "da bomb." Had one on my two wheeled devices; moved it to the three wheeled. My used bike came with an "Ultimate" seat. Not the greatest, at least according to my hind end. The sheepskin makes it acceptable. I'm not helped by my tight, arthritised (Just made up a word!) joints...

Does the plate carrying the rear brake caliper go inside or outside the swing arm?

THANK YOU, both. A clarifying question for Wolfeman: by “spacer” do you mean the piece I describe as a top hat, which is, indeed, a spacer? If not, I’m missing a part… Thamks

Does the plate carrying the rear brake caliper go inside or outside the swing arm?

Greetings A friend helped me remove the rear wheel for a much needed tire replacement. He worked on the caliper side; I worked the drive-gear side. He removed the caliper and together we loosened the axle nut. As we removed the axle, the plate to which the caliper attached dropped to the floor...

998cc Gearbox knocking when cold - could it be the oil?

My 998 doesn't like to be cold. It rumbles almost painfully for the first 2 minutes. I use the oil the manual recommends. Warming it up before putting in gear reduces the shudder considerably. A few miles and the engine is hot and the juddering is gone. Scared me the first few times it happened...

Anyone using Sheep Skin for Driver's Seat? If so, any input?

Used one on two wheels for many miles. Now use one on three wheels for many miles. Warmer than vinyl on cold days. Cooler than vinyl on hot days. Win/Win.

Contemplating buying a Spyder - any reliability, power, and buyer's remorse issues?

I regret owning a Spyder. Maintenance is a HUGE hassle, getting through all the plastic. Dealer service is far too expensive; independent repair shops are rare. None in my area, only one dealer who makes it clear that Spyders aren't his preference. I bought a two-cylinder, which I regret. If I...
