• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

I get a Leg pain after riding the RT for more than half an hour - anyone else? Any solutions?

Agree with you. I'm 6'2" as well, and at first, I experienced the same issues. What I have found that helped me to enjoy more riding time was installing foot pegs that extended my feet a bit further forward, and swapping out the OEM seat for a Comfort Seat. Huge riding and comfort difference...

    Winter Blues? No ride today...

Our Southern Illinois weather here has been rather wonky as well. Last week we did a have a 70's degree day. Was beautiful, the perfect riding day... then the cold set back in. And now, back to our irregularly scheduled winter sporadic temps.

Do you struggle putting on the rear license plate of your F3 T or L? Try this!

No problem here either on my 2014 RTL. Could be having longer fingers ✌️is an asset in this instance.

USER NAMES/HANDLES - What does yours mean? Where did it come from?

Hee Haw fan here as well. That was one of the family favorites growing up. Thank goodness for syndication, still watching it after all these years. Heeee Haw! 😂

USER NAMES/HANDLES - What does yours mean? Where did it come from?

I worked for Radio Shack back in the 80's. Remember those Tandy brands all too well. And, the nightly anticipated Modem Dial Up sound at closing, waiting, hoping, for a connection  . Yep, the good ole days for sure. (y)

USER NAMES/HANDLES - What does yours mean? Where did it come from?

Mine (Briorick) was a combination of 2 names. My partner being Brian, and myself, Rick. Back in the 90's my partner and I raised Min Pins and Dobermans, therefore the name Briorick was created for business purposes. Still to this day, it just stuck.

    FedEx is the worst!!!

Yeah, I have seen that too. Unfortunately with the FedEx situation here, its been mostly young white folk. Nothing against them, but, reading and comprehension is still KING! LOL

    FedEx is the worst!!!

I wouldn't say Fed Ex is the worst, at least not for my geographical area. Although, we have had our share of frustrated mishap deliveries, but that was due to the new drivers who apparently "CAN'T READ". Anytime we had a new driver it seems we always had some issues. Living in a small rural...

Should I get a 2014 now, or wait and get a newer model? Any 'gotta have' features?

I had my DESS disabled and bought 2 spare Ilco x270 keys. Had them cut, but never attempted to use them. Fortunately, this posting made me check my keys with the Spyder, before I forget once again. One thing I had forgotten was to grind the corners (as was shown in the previous picture) to allow...

Should I get a 2014 now, or wait and get a newer model? Any 'gotta have' features?

My first 2014 (high mileaged 65k) showed it's ugly DESS a few times, but never went out. Never left me stranded, thankfully, but that was always at the back of my mind. After trading for another 2014 with much less mileage (19k), I too had the DESS disabled. One of the best things a person can...

I built support blocks to raise the Spyder for oil changes etc.

Nice job! Now that my Spyder has been put to rest, as of today, for the long winter, this could be a great time to duplicate what you have made here. Would surely be of great usage allowing more undercarriage room. Thanks again for the pics.

Disability Plates - Texas only allows 1 plate per Operator! Is the Law the same in your State? What's Your Opinion?

Here in Illinois, I believe it's still only 1 HC hanging placard and I DV plate. I have the DV Plate on the Spyder (left leg amputee here) and the hanging Placard in my truck. We do have a 3rd vehicle as well. Yes, I agree at times, it would be nice to have a third Placard/DV plate (usually I...

Should I get a 2014 now, or wait and get a newer model? Any 'gotta have' features?

I bought my first Spyder the exact same way. Not knowing if I truly would really enjoy riding one, I did my homework, joined this group, and read and learned as much as I could before deciding to purchase one. It was definitely going to be a used 2014 to be exact, with all the good reviews I...

What's the likely Cost Estimate to get 3 New Tires and Air Pump Replacement done?

Whatever replacement costs the dealer incurred, he has it listed at a price to move. And it's barely broke in @21K. Here in my area, in Illinois, that is a great deal for a 2016. Just be sure to check it over completely and thoroughly.

Should I get a 2014 now, or wait and get a newer model? Any 'gotta have' features?

FB Marketplace within my surrounding areas is plentiful with 2014's and above. Many good deals to be had, and also given the age of these older ones, it helps if the person is somewhat wrench acquainted. Still, Great prices and low miles. Same here. My first Spyder, also a 2014, was bought...

Tooting my own horn here - my Elka II Rear shock install went well!

Last year I pulled the Frunk off totally and installed BajaRons Shock adjusters. Trying to do the install via the wheel wells was a PITA. This past Spring I installed a new rear tire and thought, thinking ahead here, if I had the Rear Shock, it would have been a great time for a changeout...

Tooting my own horn here - my Elka II Rear shock install went well!

So true! Looking back at all I have installed/replaced before on my 1st Spyder, this was just another day after all. Always glad when its Completed! A great sense of accomplishment. Mikey, I recall using your Bypass method when my ACS went out on my 1st Spyder. Was extremely helpful!

Tooting my own horn here - my Elka II Rear shock install went well!

Bought my Elka II Rear shock a few months back and was anticipating (and a little dreading as well, LOL) the install. Now, with Fall weather here, cooler temps, and with a few down riding days, it was a good day for the install. Fingers Crossed big time! 🤞 I'm not new at removing all the...

What are your thoughts on Magic Mirrors or Magnetic Mirror mounts for a 2016 RT Limited?

Magic Mirror Mounts are just one of the things that makes life a little sweeter. When I traded my 1st Spyder for another, I purposely removed my Magic Mirror Mounts and reinstalled them on the next Spyder... Yep, that's how good they are! (If you change out the original mirror clips, keep them...

DESS error may be due to all the aftermarket electronic add-ons? Just throwing it out there!

"Peace of mind", my sentinments exactly. Having that DESS issue makes you not want to travel too far from home for fear of being stranded ANYWHERE. I also made it a point to purchase a Jump Pak, for that just in case moment the battery suddenly decides not to crank . A little extra security...
