14 seat?

I'm wondering if the 2014 seat will fit 2012, trying to decide which way to go and want to have as much info as possible before I choose.
thanks

That is a good question. The 2013 seats fit on the earlier models.

:agree: I moved my 2010 to my 2013 because of the Utopia backrest (did not want to give it up and get another backrest). No issues.

I am almost certain based on the pictures we've seen that getting a 2014 seat on older models should be possible unless changes under the seat (frame) have changed... particulary now that the oil dipstick is on the top right...

Been trying to find this out myself. I refuse to pay another 1200 for another seat...:lecturef_smilie:

From what I've been able to pick up; it'll retrofit to the earlier models.

Those long poles on the backrest make me wonder if that is 100% true.
They are so long it seems they may engage into holes in the frame under the seat?

They might just need that length to get down through the foam padding...
I don't think that they'd have them tucking down into the frame; The seat pivots rearward as it tips up, and that might pose problems... :dontknow:

Dom,
It just seems that if you want the RT seat; you'll have to buy it from a dealer for about $23,000 bucks or so...
But they'll throw in the rest of the bike for free to go with it!

I would check very very closely before assuming anything off of prior models will fit the 2014. with all the changes in engine size, position, radiator change etc the ryde looked to me (standing right next to it) like it was wider in certain areas and slightly different in shape - not enough to change the look but potentially enough to affect fit of various items

If the seat is the improvement they say it is, it will be a winner.

If its anything like previous years, plan on waiting months to get one though. They are going to do production of :spyder2:'s first--then accessory parts will be available.

Don't know..!!

for sure but do know they have it in three colors with optional back rest..if modified for the back rest could change but doubt it...good luck..!!

Got hold of a catalog

2014 comfort seat, $600, rider backrest, $450, heated comfort seat, $800, how much seat can I get, with a backrest, for over a grand?
