• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Contacted 2 different Can Am Dealers and I received 2 different answers.

My question is when is my next scheduled maintenance? The last one was at 3000 miles.

I was told by one service department that my next one is at 4600 miles and after the 9200 miles; the other service department told me my next maintenance is at 6000 miles. Both dealers are Powersport, (same location but in different areas).

Thanks.

The '11 was originally set up for 3,000 miles and sometime later (either just before or just after the 12's were released) the interval was changed from 3,000 to 4,600. Under the revised schedule you are due at 9,300 miles for next service. Given that you will have 1,600 more miles on the oil and filter than recommended, I would just make sure the oil level is up and get it done at 9,300 miles. There isn't much to that service interval other than change the oil and filter.

With the improved filters(longer trans filter) the schedule is every 4,600 miles for the 998 engine. The real question is if they installed the longer trans filter or not there should be a sticker on your oil tank stating it.

They could both be right wengerda! It would depend if you had the new filter case installed or not.
The 2011 RT LTD came with the original oil filter casing which was smaller, encased a smaller oil filter
therefore requiring more frequent oil changes. The newer models come with a bigger oil casing and oil filter
giving you more space in between oil changes. Like 50% more if I remember correctly. I had received (and I'm sure I wasn't the only one)
a coupon in the mail to give to my dealer on my next oil change and it gave me the new filter and casing.
I'm not sure how you could check to see if that was done or not on your ride. That was a couple of years ago.
The new casing is backwards compatible. Good luck!

What "casing" ?

What or where is this " casing " to which you refer ? When I changed my oil , my dealer sold me the new oil filter and it seemed to fit in my existing oil filter casing. There was no mention of any " casing " update. Was I supposed to get a new casing to go with the new extended life oil filter ?
