There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. 2012 Can-Am Spyder Roadster info and pics !

Wake me up next year if they accually do something worth while mentioning besides paint.

I do like the green though, but the brown looks like poop. Did you get my analogy ??? :roflblack:

My guess, introduce some nice colors, sell some more spyders, introduce new rs next year.

Why would brp rush in the new model?
Sales are strong and there is no competion yet.
Besides, I think it will Be hard to improve on the design of current rs. Both for brp and future competitor.
It still looks awesome except for funky cougar head/headlight.

May be new fairings and a little flare here and there?

Just a bit of write up on the 2012:

2012 Can-Am Spyder new model release

07/10/2011

Can you believe that the Can-Am Spyder is entering its 5th model year? Given the maturing of the model lines, 2012 is a year of refinement, handling enhancements, new color options, and improved styling for the Can-Am Spyder line-up. The Can-Am Spyder's popularity can not be denied. Despite an overall market reduction of 15% since 2010, the Spyder line-up has realized a 50% increase in sales and already is #6 in marketshare--#2 in Quebec behind only the cult following Harley Davidson.
2012 Can-Am Spyder RS roadster - Combining Sport and Adventure
The Can-Am Spyder RS line represents the machine for the rider who has a passion for sporty adventure, and the eagerness to go forth and conquer the open road around the country or just around the block. From its performance-oriented, three-wheel, open-air configuration to its cutting-edge design and sporty stance, the Spyder RS roadster from BRP is a legitimate head turner, even when standing still. However, this innovative vehicle, which is purpose-built with an performance attitude, crisp acceleration and the intrinsic ability to tame turns. It looks, rides and performs unlike anything in the powersports industry and that’s perfect.
This year, the Can-Am Spyder RS-S model gets even more sport performance thanks to a front-end that is updated with Fox Racing Shox front suspension. These shocks feature improved compression and rebound damping performance and a threaded pre-load adjuster. The Spyder RS-S also comes in two new, eye-catching colors: Neutron Green Metallic / Satin Black and Can-Am Red / Satin Black.
All Can-Am Spyder RS roadsters are loaded with machismo thanks to its proven Rotax® 998cc V-twin engine. The powerplant, which has great torque and shortens roads with a twist of the throttle, is mated to the two available five-speed transmissions. The electronic five-speed (plus reverse) SE5™ transmission, which is controlled by the left hand (thumb and forefinger) and requires no clutching, is optional. A standard SM5 (manual) five-speed transmission also includes reverse.

The Can-Am Spyder RS roadster models all feature an innovative and stable architecture from BRP. Two forward wheels and a double A-arm design are up front and a swingarm with a mono shock and a single rear wheel drives the machine. The Spyder RS is also outfitted with the Vehicle Stability System (VSS), a system developed in partnership with Bosch. Combine the Y configuration, VSS with proven automotive-derived technologies such as anti-lock braking, traction and stability control and the Can-Am Spyder roadster line offers confidence-inspiring handling and control.

Looks like the white limited has a different seat and what looks to be a fuel door on the seat. Looks different than the tan one. Also would like to see the amber gauge one with info and the new gray mist wheels on the RTS.

I was looking at that. I think this "May" be a new seat all together. The entire seat is stitched differently and looks a tad longer and taller... Maybe a skinnier one as well. Might be an upgrade seat like the Comfort is for the RS....

That green is nice! Green is my 5 year old sons favorite color....When I showed him the picture he said "That green spyder is HOT" :)

That would make way too much sense, much better to just give us new paint and an aftermarket shock set up!:gaah:

:agree: And your replies fall right in line with your name.

hurmph... I was quite happy having a rare color... makes it easy to pick out of a sea of red spyders...

Now I'm just gonna have to paint it purple...

I do like the green though, but the brown looks like poop. Did you get my analogy ??? :roflblack:

:agree: I hate it. I do like the green. I guess we'll still be getting the 2012 Viper Red RT-S SM5 we were planning on purchasing. I am glad they kept that color.

I few things I picked up on the 2012.

The seat on the RT has been redesigned again to give the driver a little more space and comfort.

They do offer chrome wheels for the front of the RT but they are not offering them for the rear at this time because they were not happy with the testing they did on the strength of the rim and hub after chroming. They are working on that.

The RS and the RT now share the same rear wheel. The RT has a better load capacity than the RS on the 2010, not sure if they made the change for 2011 or just for 2012.

The Fox shocks are only offered on the RSS but should be a direct bolt on for and RS/GS.

The cluster is the only other big change and they did not have one I could see at the show. I kind of like my blue cluster but the amber is nice too.

Is that a fuel door on that new seat? It looks as though it could be, but I think I see stitching there, so probably not.

Disappointment

Well if that is all BRP are offering then to bad for not only me but them! I would think that BRP has had a lot of suggestions from us experienced Spyder owners not to mention those aftermarket guys out there! Not much mentioned about the Engine. Floor boards should be on the touring models not as an option but Standard equipment!! I think that sales will dip because colours don't sell, innovation does! Good Luck BRP !

Too bad BRP didn't offer the chrome handle bar cover and foot peg supports as part of the Limited or at least as an option. The chrome muffler parts that are now included on the Limited are easy to put on. However, the handle bar cover and foot peg supports are each all day projects.

I'm glad they didn't change much for the simple reason it's only a 3rd year model and there are still plenty of issues with the current builds. Can you imagine the mess the dealers would be in IF wholesale changes were made to any of these models?

IMO, another year or 2 of tweaking the current set ups would not be a bad thing and hopefully this gives BRP more time to get the dealers on board and up to snuff. JMO
