• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

2012 RT SE5 Shift Issues

So, hopped on Charlotte this morning to head off to work, went to merge onto the freeway . . . and could not upshift. Multiple jabs at the shifter finally got me up to 3rd, which was enough to take the first exit and head back home.

Lynnwood Motoplex has one Spyder tech on vacation all next week, so can't fit me in until 9/12. This is waaaay too long for me to go without "wind therapy," so I futzed around with the shifter and discovered that it doesn't seem to be "rebounding" all the way back after a shift - if I gently push it back toward me after an upshift just a bit (not enough to downshift, obviously!), the next upshift seems to work fine.

I looked at the screw that holds that piece on, and it doesn't seem to be loose. I'm worried that it's more than just that, though, as at least twice I've had the bike "double-shift" - from reverse right into 1st, and from 1st to 3rd.

Any suggestions?

Try to limp along until you can have it replaced. If you can talk your dealer into it, ordering a new control assembly up front would save you some additional down time after you take it in. At this point I doubt a little spray of WD-40 would hurt anything, BTW, but I would clear that approach with your dealer first to avoid finger pointing when you do take it in.
