• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

2012 vs 2011 RT-S

I’m looking at the RT-S.
Do you think the 2012’s are worth the price difference of the 2011’s?
And what do you think the price difference would be?

I’m assuming the 2012’s would/should have less problems than the 2011’s.
Even if it’s just that there was another year of experience in putting them together.

Does anyone have an opinion on this?

Also, what exactly do you have to order to get rider to rider communication on the Spyder?
And is wired the only BRP option?

Thanks for your comments.

I would reach out to Len at Cowtown. I'm sure he could work you a great deal on a '11 or '12. I don't see much technical difference between the two. It would only be a color choice and the new seat color (not sure that I care to much for that).

Len was cheaper than any of my local dealers when I purchased my trailer.

Maybe even one of his performance models! :2thumbs:

Len will pick you up at the airport and you can ride it back home. :doorag:

Since there are no '12's at the dealers I don't think anyone knows the price point on them yet. The newer model always tends to be worth more than one a year old so there could be some deals. But, they have been selling well in this area and there are very, very few '11's left in stock.

Although there are some minor differences I really think that BRP isn't stuck on model years. If there is something that needs to be addressed, they have always been quick to make a recall to upgrade the machines.

The Scala bluetooth G4 made by Cardo is the best communication device IMO.

LOL, that's a little too far away from me. It would have to be one heck of a deal. :)

Double Trouble:
The Scala, is that the whole unit? Nothing needed on the Spyder?

Thanks again for the comments.

We use Scalas, we use the TeamPro as we did not needed the miles between us, the ream pro works for 100ft so we can still talk from bike to somebody in the house.

They clip or glue to your helmet, nothing used on the bike.

MSRP for the 2012s has not been announced yet.

Very few changes between the two years...mostly cosmetic.

The BRP comm system is wired. There are both wired and wireless aftermarket comm systems available, that are not Spyder specific.
