• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

622 Trailer Questions

My dealer informs me the 2013 622 trailer I ordered to match my 2013 RT LTD has arrived, but (according to my dealer) "had a 2012 build date". To me that makes it a 2012. It has the 2012 connector and wheels, which of course, wouldn't match the bike. He offered to swap the wheels with a 2013 he has on the floor and provide an adapter for the connector, the implication being this is common and not a big problem. I refused delivery, wanting neither the depreciation associated with a 2012 vs. a 2013 registration nor the additional complexity (and potential failure point) of an adapter. He said he would order another trailer for me. My questions are were there any changes to the light functionality of the 2013 vs. that of the 2012? If the earlier designs had been satisfactory, why would BRP have changed them? What exactly is the current configuration and function of the light cluster? Is it still a cosmetic match only to the bike's configuration? How long should delivery of a new trailer take? Is the water management kit installed on all new 622 trailers? Getting a straight, logical answer to these questions seems an impossibility from my dealer, maybe you folks can help. After weeks of delays to my order, problems with the bike's setup, and the botched delivery of the equipment that comes standard with the LTD, my confidence level in my dealer is dropping, and my frustration level is moving off the chart.

 Ouch!
I'm sorry to hear that your new bike's delivery has been met with "complications"... :gaah:
Have you tried a "heart to heart" talk with the owner yet?
Good choice on not taking the first 622!
Good Luck! Please let us know how this works out! :2thumbs:

I would not have accepted a 2012 trailer, either. If it has the 9-pin connector and says 2012 on the VIN tag, it is not the 2013 you paid for. Besides the wheels, the paint may not match. On the other hand, if a substantial discount was offered, I might consider it. Easy to adapt the trailer to the 2013 connector...and it does not require an expensive BRP adapter.

As far as the wiring, the wiring and connector configurations have been a moving target. BRP has had some issues, and has tried different trailer modules and wiring configurations to try to resolve them. The new square-4 connector, with the separate trailer module rather than the old integrated style, appears to be the answer. The trailer you use with it is less important...any year can be easily adapted. The lights will work exactly like those on a 2013 trailer. The trailers all look the same, except for wheels and the lighting connector. BTW, the water management kit became standard equipment in 2011.

The above blue portion of Scotty's quote is exactly why I agreed to have a 2012 622 Trailer. In addition, my dealer agreed not only to reduce the price of the trailer, but also agreed to have my trailer painted the Circuit Yellow Metallic which is not offered by BRP in their trailer line. The match was done by a professional painter, and they did an excellent job.

My 2012 622 trailer does have the water management system. I got a very good deal at Seminole Power Sports with this trailer combined with my 2012 RT-S yellow spyder. I wasn't going to pay the full $4,000.00 something for a trailer.

I bought a 2011 in 2012 and the tail lights are cosmetic as you said. The bulb sockets are still there but the clipped the wires so they could not be used. The lights them selves just have silver foil stuck over the sockets holes so it would not be impossible to make them work if you wanted to. My wiring harness still came with the 9 wire plug but only 4 wires in the loom. I bought a replacement cable from BRP for about $35, it plugs into the 4 wire connector at the base where it meets the fiberglass body and has the matching 4 wire square plug. I was under the impression that all 2012s came with the square plug but I must be wrong about that. I would not have a problem with the trailer if the dealer was willing to make the wheel and the harness changes if I was in any hurry to use the trailer. Just my 2 cents: :)

2010 - Separate turn signals, 9-pin connector, seven wires in tongue harness, but only 6-wires used (modified 5-pole system)

2011 - Blanks at turn signals, signals combined with brake lights, 9-pin connector, four wires in pole harness (4-pole system), water management kit introduced as standard equipment. New colors introduced. Retrofit water management kit available for 2010's.

2012 - Same as 2011, additiional new colors introduced.

2013 - Lighting same as 2011/2012, square-4 connector, four wires in pole harness (4-pole system), water management kit standard, new wheels introduced, new colors intorduced.

:agree: add Chris "Mouthpiece"'s idea on the paint job and I would say you have the same trailer as a 2013, but unique and cheaper!
