• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

With 28K on my original one I suppose its time to change. Can it be done without a master mechanics lic once the right side tupperware has been removed? Or is it a regular SOB? If the latter, I'll just keep trucking with the OEM. Gas mileage is still the same, starts and runs good.

They were supposed to have done this when the VSS/VCM? was installed last week but forgot. Figured I'd get by on the cheap but it didn't pan out. Somewhere in the process I lost my cruise control. They're ordering a new switch........:sour:

FWIW, the new VSS thing didn't solve my "faulty brake light code"....popped back on the next day after leaving the shop.
Dealer is getting back with BRP to see whats next. :sour:

Good news is that new turn signal switch installed at same time works great. Wondering if this isn't somehow the cause for cruise ct not working! :dontknow:

Partially answer

Your cruise control should be tied in to your brake pedal and shifter circuits. Without a wiring diagram we are at my limit.

Did this start as a result of the most recent service? If yes I would be suspicious of a technician error like a loose connection that is totally disconnected or intermittent.

Yes, the new VSS and new turn sig were installed at same time. I asked about coincidence of turn sig and cruise ct and Mech said cruise and turn sig only share the same power wire and since the cruise switch did light up "off/on" on dash, the switch must be bad. At least thats the way I understood it...i may not have that totally correct. I suspect you're on to something about it being related to the brake circuits somewhere.

However, since the new VSS didn't solve the brake failure light problem, they still have to figure out what is causing this so the Can Am will be back in shop for that. Can't wait to see what BRP comes up with this time. That was a big job, 7 hrs labor, and may well be the the cause for loss of cruise, rather than the turn sig switch, so I didn't make much fuss about the cruise; figured if they want to install a new cruise ct switch, they will get it working one way or the other.

They've treated me exceptionally well and I want to
maintain the good relationship we've established.
