• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Question # 2

This is a two part question. I have mentioned that the revolutionary war memorial in Bennington is the tallest structure in Vermont, how tall is it, and what hangs on the ground floor captured from the British?

I told everyone that this one would be harder, 1/2

How about 306 ft. and Bennington Battle flag, which is thought to be oldest stars and stripes in existence.:firstplace:

AND General Burgoyne's cook kettle and the monument is actually 306 feet 4 and 1/2 inches tall, and Paul V. Winters, a Vermont artist, constructed a diorama depicting the Second Engagement of the hard-fought Bennington Battle, which hangs inside the entrance.

I need 2 answers, I had three, now I have four. The answers are staring me in the face, just to many

My wife said I was splitting hairs, so Dave you are the winner of prize # 2 as this is also on the spyder ride at americade courtesy ounce again by Arctic Adventures of Rosendale, NY. Isn't history fun, now I will have to find out about that flag. It can't be there, not enough security.

Last minute urge for road trip has me thinking about heading solo to Americade. I've never been so maybe this is the year.

Any ideas on reasonable motel relatively close to or, in Lake George???

If I make it, will definetely do the ride on the 9th....

I stayed in a place called Lake Side a few years ago, walking distance to town. Nothing fancy but reasonable. Ken Tompkins is staying at one in town with some friends but I don't remember the name. Maybe he will post. This late though you might have to goggle Lake George chamber of commerce to get a list of places and start calling. Let us know how you make out.

I just noticed you said the 9th. The ride is thursday, the 10th, starting at 8:30 at Sally's Hen House, 3978 State Route 4. Hudson, NY. 12839. 4 miles south on Rt. 4 from Fort Anne on the left.

hevnbound.....

A group of four of us are staying at the Studio Motel -- http://www.studiomotel.com/

I'm not sure if they have any rooms left but you could call. It is just over the hill from the sales area so it's fairly close.

It would be great if you could join us.

Thanks for the info. They have a Suite w/Kitchen - 2 beds, nonsmoking available for $99/night. If I make it, I will be there Mon, Tues, Wed - leave Thursday.

Good rate but still too steep for me to swing by myself ... ANYONE WANT TO SPLIT IT??? Need to move quick. Let me know.

Just confirmed room with 2 queen beds - that's the good news!

The not so good news (well, not really!), .. my riding buddy talked me into bringing the two-wheelers so we can ride the twisties in that area that one can only do on a motorcycle!!!!!..

Ken, thanks again for the heads up on the Studio Motel. See you there!
