Anyone here tried a NOCO LiIon battery?

I'm gonna be purchasing a new battery next month. So, to summarize:
1.) The NOCO NLP20 is the correct size for the Spyder, correct? Yes this is the correct battery

2.) My switchable maintainer with Lithium (LifePO4) function will work for this Battery?
If you're talking about this one I don't see where it states that it's a maintainer but that it shuts off to prevent overcharge. :dontknow: Maybe someone else can answer that for you.

Answered your questions in bold above.

So what advantages are you going to get with this battery over the stock one besides the weight difference?

I've been getting a C1290 fault code. Sometimes when starting, even after I've been driving, the starter seems to "stumble" and I get the code. Dealer says it's battery level that triggers that. Battery is only 6 mo old but... I put one in a Goldwing and immediately noticed that it turned over the engine much faster than the stock battery. I'm hoping that the increased starting power will remedy that. Got it but haven't installed it yet so we'll see.

Longevity. A good Lith-Ion will last ten years or more. I like the ones from Anti-Gravity that have the restart technology. The battery will only discharge so far and then a built in disconnect shuts it down. Push the reset button and it will have more than enough power to start the machine. Not cheap, but a very good product I think. Weight savings isn't really an issue with a Spyder unless you drag it up a flight of stairs each night.

Or, you have more hardware in you than most hardware stores! Trust me, it makes a difference when you are turning the damn thing in the twisties.... ;-)

I have the NLP20 in my 2020 RTL and love it. The NOCO is much smaller physically but comes with spacer plates to match the height dimension of the original. Be very careful when you install it. The Spyders' battery hold down plate is very wide and comes close to touching the positive terminal of the battery. Make sure you position the red rubber boot on your positive cable to prevent contact. You should also buy NOCO's Lithium battery maintainer. A charger/maintainer for lead acid batteries is not the same. You'll notice that the CCA (Cold Cranking Amps) of this battery is 600 compared to your original battery's 300-350. However, the AH (Amp Hour) rating is much lower. This means that the Lithium battery has a massive starting ability, but will go flat much faster than a lead battery if you leave your key on. It's almost hard to believe the weight difference of this battery. It weighs less than 4 pounds!

Hey guys I was looking through the posting on the Noco NLP20 Lithium battery. I have a 2016 Spyder RTS SE6, I'm thinking when I need a new battery replacement will be the Noco NLP20. A few questions. 1. Has anyone installed one in a 2016 - 2019 Spyder? I did see one Spyder owner installed online his 2014 Spyder, not sure if this is under the seat or if it's in the Frunk. The 2016 - 2019 Spyders batteries are in the Frunk. 2. With the NLP20 installed has anyone have any error codes and if they did, did the error codes go away after a few starts.

Back when I purchased my Spyder in July 2020, I replaced the battery not to get stranded on the ride. I found the NOCO battery, the tech info on the Noco batteries was impressive. Talking with NOCO Rep at the time they didn't have a battery for the Spyder's. I told them they better start looking at designing one for the BRP Can-Am Spyder's as the community is growing and growing super fast. Never heard anything back, so I just gave up.

Any info would be appreciated. GDoc, Ride Safe and watch out for the cagers and knuckle heads.

All Spyder batteries from 2013 on are in the same place as the 2016 - 2019 & later Spyders.

It was only the 2012's & earlier that had them under the seat. ;)

NLP 20 installed on my 2015 RTS about 9 months ago. When not running the volt meter shows a solid 13.8 volts even after sitting for a week or so. No error codes of any type. Easy install and made easier with the light weight of the battery. I recommend it.

Purchased the NOCO NLP20 for $89 on Ebay, and the NOCO Genius1 charger from amazon for $30.

John, Hows that NOCO NLP20 working out for you?
That's a really good price, for $100 or less I think I want to try (1)out also.
I'm just a little skidish when buying from sellers on E-Bay, "items direct from China"

Gotta think on this for a while, :dontknow: Bill

NOCO battery seems to be working fine, starts right up. It comes with a drop in bottom spacer and fits well.
Be sure to get a Lithium charger as a lead acid or AGM charger will ruin a lithium battery.
