There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. Anyone in Northern Texas area installing Car Tires on Spyders?

Is there any one in Northern Texas or Southern Oklahoma installing car tires on the rear? Not just mounting them on the rim, but removing & installing them on the Spyder (an RT)?

I’m hoping to find an installer closer to North Dallas than Eastern Tennessee.

I wish you luck. You should not have a problem with the fronts. Or at lease, less of an issue. But it's extremely rare to find a non-Spyder option for removing and replacing the rear tire. It's a good amount of work. And if you don't do it right, things can be difficult.

The only thing that worries me about standard car tire locations is that they tend to use impact wrenches on the lug nuts and rear axle nut. While that's fine for removal, not too good for replacement.

I've posted this before, even just recently, and I know we shouldn't have to, but experience teaches us that we really do need to, so here's another reminder:

Just a reminder people, if you 'out' your dealer or any other tire fitter/business here on the public pages as being someone who will fit anything other than OEM tires &/or their clones onto Spyders, then as has been reported here on the Forum before/more than once, there's a fairly high chance that someone will come the heavy on them and it usually won't be long before they won't be fitting any non-OEM tires for you or maybe anyone else ever again!! :cautious:

So if a dealer/tire fitter/any business does do that 'fit non-OEM tires to your Spyder' thing ^ for you, and you want them to keep on doing that, then don't broadcast it to the world on the public pages, be a little discreet, and if you want to know or share any specific details of WHO has actually fitted non-OEM tires &/or their clones to Spyders/Rykers with any other members,
use DM's. 😉

Just Sayin' - AGAIN! :sneaky:

Thank you Ron.
I can take the fronts off, new tires mounted and me reinstall. The rear is my main issue.
I completely agree with the impact. They tend to over torque on automobiles also.

Peter, thanks for the heads up.
It sure sucks though.
With all the vehicles and motorcycles I’ve owned, I have never been associated with a “secret” and controlling brand like BRP.
It would be different if they cornered like 2 wheels and the rims were 2 wheel motorcycle rims instead of J rims.
Car tires are common on traditional trikes and side car rigs.
Many long distance 2 wheel riders run car tire on rear. I never have nor will.
At least on my 2 wheel I had choices of better tires. OEMs were not good but there were choices for longer life and better handling tires.

Thanks again to both of you.
