• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Auxiliary Fuse panel and other stuff

I just bought a new RT 2014 and am farkling. I plan on running all the farkles directly from the battery through a switched/relayed fuse panel and it seems the best place to locate the fuse panel would be in the frunk, close to the battery, but I have heard that the frunk has to come off for some procedures and if that is the case it might be better to have only one large gauge duplex that needed to be disconnected rather than having multiple wires that needed to be labeled and fitted with quick disconnects. If it is advisable to locate the aux fuse panel other than in the frunk, where would be a good place?? I havent removed any of the tupperware so far and therefore havent the foggiest where the voids and readily accessible places might be hiding.
I plan on hooking up two permanent dual Gerbing controllers and need to find a good place for them as well as for the relays for all the farkles. I hope not to reinvent the wheel and hope some old hands would keep me from doing things I would regret later.
All suggestions greatly appreciated.
Andy

The front trunk needs to come off from time to time to perform various repairs and maintenance. An experienced tech can remove it in 5 to 10 minutes. I would not put an auxiliary fuse panel in there. I am not familiar with 2014 RT for locations, but I am sure there must be a better spot.

fuze panel

I put a Fuze block on my 14 under the black panel on the L side by the rear area of the frunk. On the Rt. side is where you plug in the BUDS. Hope this helps, MarcusB

My farkeling addiction as increased another level or three. I stared last week by adding bunch of stuff and concluded to surrender my left cargo compartment. As of this evening I have added a second Battery, Battery Isolator and FZ-1 Fuse block from TricLED. Ran 12 gauge wire from the front Battery to the back. My LED lights should be in by next week.

Needed to add that the plastic is rather thin so I used Fender Washers for mounting

LED Side Bag Lights

Found these really cool LED lights at Advance Auto for the rear compartments. They are two sets of six LED's pre-wired then at Radio Shack picked up a bag of normally closed push button switches so that when the lid is closed the light will be out. Used a furniture scuff pad to build up the area for the button to be depressed.

The little round pad has adhesive on one side, a little spongy but will do for now.

Also found a great place for my 4 channel LED Controller, behind the panel under the left mirror or FZ-1 Fuse block or maybe both.
