• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Has anyone looked into or had any dealing with the brp semi soft ridgid bags for the spyder. All info would be awesome as am planning a cross country trip. thanks. They are economically feasible, but what do ya get or ????????????:helpsmilie:

Are you talking about the BRP seat, rack, and tank bags (and the rolling trunk bag) for the RS? We have the seat bag, and it is nice for commuting and small daytrips. It can even carry a laptop computer. Water resistant, but not waterproof. Has to be loosened to fill gas tank. For lengthy trips I prefer a completely waterproof bag like the Helen2Wheels, Seal-Line, or Ortlieb. They hold a tremendous amount of gear, are available in either end or side opening, and strap across the seat nicely.

The BRP tank bag we have is of limited size and value. Mars the tank, especially in wet weather, unless you add a foam rubber pad beneath for protection. Same water-resistant, not waterproof construction. No map pocket. No rain cover. The new Nelson-Rigg Spyder tankbag is probably better, and is cheaper.

No experience with the Sport Rack bag, but it is similar to the seat bag. None with the rolling trunk suitcase, either, but it does eat up all that valuable trunk space. I prefer to add bags elsewhere.

wow, that is a lot to digest. Went to the dealer today, just dreaming and had at look at the new RT, anyway long story short, there is a semi ridgid soft sided cargo carrier/bag available for the 08 sm5. Thanks and once again any info would be awesome.....WHY CAN THEY NOT MAKE THIS EASY ??????????:gaah:

Still not sure what bag you are talking about. All fit any model and year of RS, and all are semi-rigid, except the rigid R-35 saddlebags. The entire line is shown here, with pictures and descriptions. Beyond that, there is some aftermarket stuuf that fits.

thanks again, but not shown here. BRP part # 219400169, need more info.:gaah:

If you lived closer and if you wanted a set of cortech saddlebags, you could have mine (free). I've used a very few times; I also had extension straps sewn on. There's nothing wrong with them. I purchased a kuryakyn gran tour bag that fits nicely behind the BRP sport rack.

The bags you are referring to are semi-rigid insert bags for the Spyder RT. They fit inside the built-in saddlebags. They can then be removed, and carried into the motel, or wherever. They cannot be used as stand alone bags, will not fit the Givi bags, and are for use with the Spyder RT version, only.
