• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Burning oil smell

I seem to get a burning oil smell when I turn a sharp turn. It doesn't happen all the time. Maybe once or twice a 200 mile ride. Only last about 2-3 seconds then its gone. Any idea what this could be??

I think it's rubber smell coming off the front tires. I notice it every once in a while also.....mainly on cloverleafs.

Is the oil smell happening on sharp left turns,? If so you might have oil dripping out of the bottom right side
of the air box and hitting the exhaust pipe.

Thats exactly what it is. Should oil be in the air box? How do you fix it. It smells exactly like oil hitting the exhaust.

No oil should not be in the air box , But it is common.
It's called blow bye, Sometimes caused by over filling the oil tank, And or trying it keep the oil level
right at the high mark all the time,
Do a search on blow bye, I used a 1/2 inch piece of foam. in the crankcase breather tube in my 08 Gs,
Simple and i might add the Non Rube Goldberg way.

I think Boborgera is correct and foam in the vent hose is a good fix, but make sure you use an open cell foam like found in a small engine air filter.
