• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Saw this license plate, it stands for Canadian American.

From 1966-86 the Can-Am racing series was held in the US and Canada and involved cars made by MacLaren, Lola, Porsche and others. The Can Am series offered some pretty exciting racing and there even was a Shelby/Dodge Can Am car. If the plate is on a performance car it probably is in reference to those racers.

If I recall correctly, there was a Can Am dirt bike around the mid 70's to perhaps mid 80's. I was in my thirties and early forties when I saw them run in Daytona.

Yes there was. When I first got my Spyder one of our contractors saw it. When I told him it was a Can-Am his eyes lit up and he told me about an old dirt bike he had 25-30 years ago that was indestructable. It was a Can-Am. One story he told me was that they tried to blow the engine. They put it in neutral, duct taped the throttle wide open and walked away. 45 minutes later they came back and it was still running. He rode it for another year and then sold it. The guy he sold it to rode it away.
