• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Can anyone tell me how to remove the front seat and disconnect the seat heat? How can I get to that seat heat plug?

I can remove the seat, but the plug for removing the seat heat is way underneath the hard plastic piece that’s under the rear seat. Does anyone know how I can get to that plug? I’m going to post some pictures.

Sorry, 2021 RTL

Did you remove the rear seat? The plug should be readily accessible with the seat off.

Sorry, pictures attached. You can see that the cord from the front seat goes down below the hard base of the back seat. I can't get to the connecter to disconnect the seat heat because it is under that hard base.

Mine was like that when I went to swap seats. It took about 5 minutes, but I was finally able to wrangle the connector back up out of that opening. It had to be manipulated into the right position and angle. Kicked my butt for awhile. See what you can do. Keep at it. Good luck.

Oh my goodness! I finally got to that connection for the driver seat heat, but it was locked in under that hard metal plate under the rear seat. The problem was that the main thick cord that reaches from the handlebars and goes under the driver seat was too short. So I could not pull the seat heat connection clip out. I got my daughter, with little hands, to reach in thru a small hole and unclick the bracket. Then we had to pull the other end of the bracket back out toward the driver seat. That was a beast as well. This whole pulling of the cord thing took hours and scraped up bloody hands.

Now, I finally have plugged in the new RDL front seat but I can't reassemble it! The issue now is that when you put the back seat back in place, you can't hook the RDL seat into the mounting brackets. And if you do the RDL seat first, the Can Am back seat won't go into place because the wings on the front of the back seat are too narrow to fit around the RDL seat. Anyone know how to assemble a RDL front seat and standard Can Am back seat so they both fit?

When you ordered the RDL did you tell them what you were going to do with the seat, by using the factory rear with it? Maybe you could take the rear to a shop and have a mod done on it. I have had the seats off from mine and the rear seat is a little tight going back on, you got to push and tuck! Good luck and enjoy that new saddle!

OK, sorry for the long delay. We moved houses over Christmas and packing and moving took priority over the Spyder. But good news! I figured it out. I had to really compress the driver seat's sides while pulling the passenger seat around the driver seat. Now it's all in tight.
