• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Can I get GPS on my 2024 S2S 10.25" screen; or GPS Software/Hardware, Apples to Oranges, or maybe not...

1) Phone and headset should be on and ready to accept bluetooth handshake when your start the bike. Upon startup is the only time the instrument cluster will scan for bluetooth devices. Will not scan for phone if headset is not found first.

2) Using bluetooth for music does not require a USB connection so why are you plugging in at all? You are confusing things and its trying to start a Carplay session. If using bluetooth for music, do not plug the phone into the bike. I have been using bluetooth for music for months and it has not disconnected while riding even once.

3) again with the multiple connections. One or the other, never both. EITHER use bluetooth for music and phone OR use CarPlay. One or the other.

4) I really cannot answer this one. Its likely your phone because mine connects to CarPlay each and every time I start the bike. Stopping for gas or lunch is no problem, starts right back up when I start the bike. So long as the phone (adaptor in my case which the bike thinks is a phone) is booted up and running BEFORE the bike instrument cluster starts up. This sounds like either bluetooth or the wifi link is being interrupted. Interference? Other signals? Phone too far from instrument cluster?

On thing BRP really does need to fix is to provide a way to scan for bluetooth and CarPlay connections again on command. The once and done, never to try again until you shut down the bike and reboot is indeed a problem that needs to be solved. Also changing from CarPlay to bluetooth or vise versa needs to be handled which is closely related to the scan problem.
1) Correct

2) Correct, but charging using the USB cable should still be an option when using Bluetooth, but cannot choose connection. Another issue to fix. Hence, make sure phone is already charged when riding.

3) Correct, yet according to BRP and the Spyder settings, Bluetooth first, then plug into USB for CarPlay. Another feature that doesn’t work as designed.

4) I’ve actually replaced my phone since I got the Spyder last June. No change. Done messing with it anyway, so if we get a nav option in-dash this spring, goodbye carplay.

USB in the dash is a data connection, not intended for phone charging. Its actually low enough power that it will not charge many newer phones. If you need a charging port, suggest adding one. Was never the OEM port's intended use.

If you connect Bluetooth first and then plug in the phone for car play, assuming the phone is booted up and working. It will handshake and start carplay at that point. Kinda useless for me using a wireless adapter but I did confirm it works. Connecting USB to the phone prior to starting the bike has been much more reliable but again, I am using an adaptor, not an actual iphone.

As for the Bluetooth connection for music, I have been using it for the 6 months and 4k miles since I got the bike and it has not dropped the connection a single time. I have had some stuttering if there is radio interference with the Bluetooth but it comes right back and is usually related to my phone being in the wrong place and too far from the cluster. Bluetooth is very short range.

There is no GPS in dash solution coming. There is no internal GPS antenna, maps or computer and no way to add those via software update. Even the discussed BRP-GO solution would be projecting the phone mapping onto the internal screen like Carplay already does.

You’re right, it charges slow, but does work for my new iPhone. I have another thread on here talking about finding a Carling L-style usb charger for the blank spot on the console, which there is nothing available that fits . Probably going to add the charging dock to the handlebar bolts. My Bluetooth never fails if I use it alone. I did call BRP and asked about this feature update, but they want to have some kind of big “reveal” so they wouldn’t give me any information about it. 😂
