• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Canyon Drive Belt Lower Idler Support Recall

It’s not the upper belt tensioner that’s on top of the Drive Belt
BRP also fitted a lower belt tensioner that’s sits on the lower part of the belt
It’s the support bracket that requires replacing
On the BRP Parts 2025 On Road Canyon list it’s show in section 04 Drive Rear Common Parts it’s listed as
Ref:
220
705503588 (this part number may be updated for the new Support bracket that needs to be replaced)
SUPPORT_PULLEY
The safety recall states it should only take 1 hour

This is the details from BRP
We are recalling Certain Model Year 2025 Can-Am Canyon vehicles. The Drive Belt Lower Idler Support will fail and may cause a belt failure. This could result in a loss of drive power while driving and increase the risk of a crash. Parts will be available starting July 16, 2025. Contact your dealer for a free repair.

So I took my Canyon to my dealer this morning. They had become aware of the recall about the same time we did. The service writer is ordering the replacement parts and will call me when they come in. He made sure to point out that it was a safety recall and leaving it there until the parts can be replaced would be the safest course of action. I explained that it was my way home and I would keep further use to a minimum until I brought it back for the repair. BRP says the entire repair should only take 0.3 hours so it should be a ride in ride out.

Made my appointment today and attached work to my 3000 mile check up for next week Tuesday. Just got back from Clay Banks shoreline ride after lunch at Waterfront Mary’s Sturgeon Bay.

The closest dealer in Spokane, the only one within an 8 hour drive (but that's a separate customer service issue, which, by the way, is severe in the Pacific North West) tells me there is a "Stop all Sales Recall" on the Canyon. I understand the recall, but was unaware Can Am has stopped selling Canyons in the US. This may be until the Canyons for sale have the upgraded support bracket installed.

Just received my recall safety notice from BRP here in the UK
I see the suport bracket will be available from 31st July
On the earlier notice it said from the 16th July Maybe they are doing the recall on all Canyons hence the change of date
