There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. CB install with GPS

I have all the parts to install the cb including the main cb/antenna, the harness and the helmut com set. I also ordered the GPS mount package but do need another harness on top of that. The dealer said it all comes with the mount but someone mentioned I would need the connection harness that ties it into the cb. If so can anyone tell me what part number that would be, I have to drive 45 miles my dealer so don't want to make 2 trips.

Thanks for any help,

Randy

I cannot tell you the part number you need, but want to encourage you to make sure you have absolutely everything you need before you start. The installation process is very ugly. requiring you to remove the rear trunk/saddlebag assembly, along with most of the rest of the body panels. You don't want to get into the middle of it and find you're missing something you need.

Here are some pics of my CB/Intercom installation on my 2010 RT. No GPS installation involved.

You need the Entertainment Harness if you already dont have it (#219400201)

*Harness required to install the CB & Communication System.

I have the harness for the com/cb but my dealer cannot tell me which parts i need to interface to the Garmin. I have the custom mount coming for the garmin 600/660 but is there another cable required to hook it up. He told me I had to buy this from garming but I think he is getting confused with the mount/ cable that comes with the 600, I have that of course. How does that interface to the com system?

I did do a search and seen the pictures you took of the install but unfortunatley I did not see any that show where the cables run or the cb box mounts. I know I have the instructions but they provide very poor pictures and no picture of the actual install, cable mounting. I like to have a good understanding before I do the work to avoid complications. The instructions told me that I had to take the rear module off as well but I am so fast at taking the panels of now that is no big deal really.

Thanks for any help,

Randy

The Garmin GPS kit comes with its harness and mounting bracket. The CB comes with its harness, however you have to buy the additional Entertainment Harnress to connect them all together. The Entertainment Harness is required to connect up the CB to the bike, but does not come in the CB kit. The GPS does not require the Entertainment Harness to work. The Entertainment Harness also has the passenger intercom jack on it. The GPS harness goes down thru the handlebars and runs down the right side of the upperframe and connects to the Entertainment Harness in the right side back. The CB is mounted on the right side behind the saddlebag. If you have any questions just PM me and I will give you my number. You can try this link as well:

Good luck and may the force be with you.

This is a picture of the trunk/saddlebag assembly hanging from the ceiling by a couple of 2" tie-down straps attached to the passenger grab handles. Be very careful as I saw one guy report that as he lifted the assembly, and it rotated to have the rear of the trunk face the floor, the rubber coating on the grab handles tore. I didn't consider that when I had already done mine, but was blessed to have no damage. In the picture, you have the right saddlebag on the left side of the picture & the bottom facing you. The silver panels are insulation for that saddlebag as it is just above the muffler. The CB is the shiny black box with the silver label attached to what is the actual leading side of the saddlebag, but looks like the top in the picture. On the top of the same saddlebag, and out of view of the picture, is the audio system (AM/FM/WB radio). A cable (Entertainment Harness) runs from the CB to that box and then along the top of the saddlebag toward the rear, where you see the rear fender, which is the center piece that has all the light colored splotches (mud). The cable runs across that top edge of the fender. You can see the braided ground strap in the middle as it runs to the other saddlebag. There a multiple connections at that location that you'll see when you have set the trunk/saddlebag assembly back into place. The Entertainment Harness plugs into one of those connectors.

Keeping in mind that I do not have the BRP GPS setup, as I understand it, the GPS unit mounts on the left saddlebag, much like the CB does the right. I believe there is a BRP harness needed to run from the GPS to the audio unit to connect it to the audio system. I think your dealer is incorrect when he says you have to buy it from Garmin.

It's been about two years since I installed my CB/Intercom, so please forgive any feeble-minded errors I may have made.

Good luck!

I haved the intertainment harness and thanks for the large picture, that helps alot. Any one have a picture of the the GPS part I will need, my dealer spoke to the mechanic and they insist I have everything I need if I already own the garmin 600 which I do. I just do not understand how the Garmin Cables connect to the harness unless there is another part. I think you are right but I need more ammo to convience them they missed something.

Thanks again,

Randy

I just looked at the GPS Mount and it includes a harness that I think the GPS connects too, it has a mating plug that goes to the back connector and it has power and audio that wire to the GPS (audio is a 1/8" audio plug that would plug into the GPS connector) so I think the dealer may be correct unless some one can point me otherwise.

Thanks for all the help again.

Randy
