• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Comparing charging

Just finished a comparo between a Yammy FJR1300A, Triumph Sprint GT, Kaw Concours 14 and a Honda VFR1200F. Thing tha caught my eye was their charging outputs: Yammy 490 watts @ 5000 rpm, Triumph 420 watts max, Kaw 581 watts @ 5000 rpm, Honda 560 watts max. Seems our Spyders are about average in their electrical capabilities. I'd been thinking we'd been shorted on charging power (pun intended).

It's not just how many watts each bike puts out, It's how many watts,
The Spyder use's [needs] compaired to the other bikes in stock form.

The comparison of 4 sport-touring bikes that will be used much as we use our Spyders - with heated clothing when needed, and other plug-ins as wanted, gives an idea of what 4 major producers of this type of bike consider adequate power for the purpose. The major difference in power draw in stock form is the DPS, which uses less current as speed increases, but is fused at 40 amps to handle low speed draw. All I'm trying to say here is that, compared to other vehicles built for the same useage, the Spyder doesn't require any more special consideration than the others.
