There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. Conversion harness

OK, I've installed a BRP trailer wiring harness in my 2010 Spyder RT. I have a NuWay trailer that's 20 years old that I have fixed up for my Spyder to tow. New LED tail lights with a flat four connector.

I need some sort of connector to go between the round female plug on the bottom of my saddlebag to the trailer's connector. Does some one make one? Will I need to make one? Componets to purchase to make one?
I've tried several searches here on SpyderLovers and nothing has come up on the subject? :banghead:

If I bought one of these male plugs, would it fit the BRP plug on my Spyder? Or is the BRP unit unique and not standard?

Any help would be apreciated. Thanks!

You will need to purchase the 2010 RT-622 Trailer Tongue Harness P/N710002029 or the 2011/2012 RT-622 Pole Harness P/N 710002442. You could just buy the mating Deutsch connector from an electrical supply house, but you would need the connector, pins, blank hole plugs, rear boot, and you would have to buy or rent the special crimping tool. Once you have the harness or connector, you can either wire it directly to your trailer, or make an adapter to the connector on your trailer. Please note that if you have a trailer module purchased in 2010, you have a 5-wire system (actually 6-wire since the brakes are separated). Your trailer will have to have separate turn signals to use this module, so you may have to add some. Use a multimeter to test the connector outputs to determine if you have a 6-wire version. The 2011/2012 modules have 4-wire output, with the brakelight and turn signal combined. Your trailer will have to be wired as 4-wire. If it has separate turn signals now, it will have to be modified (or use the turn signals as brakelight and turn). My adapter is shown below. Yours will probably need a different trailer plug.

The sticker on the wiring module had 05/2012 on it. So I figured I got one of the latest ones?
Here are the trailer lights:

Thanks for the info.

Sorry, that one is used to adapt a Spyder trailer to a 4-wire tow vehicle..not the other way around. If you buy it to adapt your trailer to the Spyder, you will waste your money.

Your trailer looks like mine (I built it myself) I had to go with a 5 wire plug. I made the plug to the BRP black box myself search forum for wire diagram. with ur led lites u will need to put diode in line on blue wire.see my post on this forum. I made my adapter for less than $30.00 but u need a little wiring exp.
